Hmmm.....I honestly was hoping I'd see mummy again. The last time I saw her face to face was many years ago, when I went to the house, since I visited the village from school. I went to visit her as usual, then I asked her to give me Toyin's address because I wanted to write her a letter and keep the communication line from being broken. Mummy told me she didn't know the address and that was it.
Mummy was one woman I admired so much, one of the very few, who lived in the village but carried herself like someone who lived abroad all her life. It wasn't surprising that she later relocated to live in the USA. She was so neat, had a great sense of fashion that reflected on her Children. She was so hospitable, kind and welcoming. The house back then used to be a market place for all during holidays. We would all gather there to catch fun. Daddy had us in mind with that large space in the compound.
Mummy, we miss you, but as a Believer, I personally believe you're in a better place now, where nothing can touch you. Aunty Bose, Uncle Kola, Uncle Tunji, Aunty Yetunde and Toyin, I pray that you receive strength from the Holy Spirit and that He will comfort and grant you the grace to bear the irreplaceable loss of a sweet mother.
Adieu ma, till the resurrection day! Amen
