Mama is bestowed with the purest, kindest heart.
To know her is to be placed under the shadow of her love, her thoughts and her prayers.

I guess the angels couldn’t wait a day more, they wanted one of theirs to be fully clothed like them.
Enter your full rest mama, you had always been an angel.

It was with mixed feelings that i received the news of mama's demise. She was a good mother. I thank God especially for her hospitable heart. I remember vividly our visit to her home in the 70s, she gave me popolo. This was the first time I tasted it and i loved it. She never failed to ask after my mum and my siblings whom she hadn't seen in a long time but still remembered everyone's names. Whenever, we were close by espcially in Ayetoro, she always came back to check on us and would never come empty handed. I thank God for the life she lived and for the love showed to us and everyone she came across. Good night mama

MÀMÁ!

A Tribute by Mubo Olasoko

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. I didn’t imagine that I will be writing a tribute for you so soon. When I saw you last in January 2021, you did not betray any weakness that suggests you will not be here with us for much longer, but God knows the best.

I have fond memories of Màmá from when her daughter Toyin and myself became friends in our late teens and we visited each other, Mama opened her house to all and sundry. Kindhearted, very accommodating, loving and generous to a fault. Her home was our play hub, food was always available in abundance and as children we could play in any part of the house without hinderance. A great mother, her life was exemplary she showed love to all, sacrificed her comfort and happiness for others.

We lost contact for some years but once we reconnected, Mama never held back. She will call me, ask after my family pray for me and even send me text messages and Whattsapp chats which she calls “letters”. I am amazed at how she deeply cares about both her biological and adopted children and how she reaches out to keep in touch even in her very old age.

I personally feel a sense of loss and sadness at your passing, but I will remember you for being always joyful, always hopeful and always with a word of encouragement. Heaven has gained a beautiful and an amazing soul, continue to rest in the bosom of your Maker.

Your loss is immeasurable, so is the love you left behind. Okun Iye mi lika, lika.

Adieu Màmá until we meet at the feet of Jesus on the resurrection morning.

I met mama before her passing, a nice mummy , great grandma to her grandchildren. Mama can call anyone even if she only met you through her children. Everyone is like a child to her. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Grandma's great memories would always live on within us. It was always beautiful to see how auntie Toyin cuddle with you in pictures and many times in family festivity celebration. It takes me close to my late parents and home "Nigeria" you would dress in Nigerian attires beautifully fancy and I remembered my late grandmother. I could tell you were a warm generous mother to all.
Rest on sweet mother, love❤ from my family.

What a glorious and a peaceful exit of a good and humble mother, generous to a fault and a peace loving woman. I was made to understand that all the money she came home with from America she sheared amongst the aged as if she knew that her departure to the great beyond was imminent. Thanks to God that you came, you saw and you conquered.  May the light perpetually continue to shine upon you Mama. Rest in perfect peace in the bosom of your maker.

With love and fond memories of my dear mother.

Mama, I have so much to write about you. If I begin to pen down my thoughts about you, I will likely go on and on forever. I will end up writing a never-ending book.
You will always be a part of me as long as I live.
