RICKETTS, Constance V. 75, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2005 in Mercy Medical Center. She was born October 26, 1929 in Springfield the daughter of Frederick and Beatrice (Retherford) York. Connie will be remembered as a dedicated mother and grandmother whose family meant the world to her. She was baptized into and was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Connie Lou enjoyed life and tried to make the most of each of her days. She enjoyed helping people and touching lives and did so for over thirty years while employed as a childcare worker for Oesterlen Services for Youth. Constance enjoyed traveling and meeting people. She is survived by her lifelong companion, Robert Gene Ricketts; children, Fred (Maria) Ricketts of Montana, Larry (Jeannie) Ricketts of Torrance, California and Rebecca (Raymond) Castle of Springfield; grandchildren, Michele (Greg) Rogers, Scott Ricketts, Jenet Ricketts, Ryan Thompson, Liana (Matt) Vitek, Cyndi (Mike) Vincent, Jackie (Brad) Wallace and Marcie (Shane) Lanter; great-grandchildren, Nick, Jacob, Haley and Shane; a brother, Warren York; a sister, Olive Wesson and a special friend, Sweetie. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Edward Ricketts, a sister and a brother. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the JONES-KENNEY- ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor John Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
