Cora Sue Cole Wilkinson, 71, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at her home.
Sue was born September 20, 1946 in Granville County to the late Elvis and Elizabeth Cottrell Cole. She was a member of Stovall United Methodist Church and served as the church organist. As a registered nurse she loved caring for others. She worked for many years at Granville Hospital in the emergency and operating rooms. After thirty years plus service, she retired from Murdoch Center in Butner, North Carolina. Sue enjoyed a lifelong love of farming tobacco, cattle and vegetable gardening.
Surviving are two sons, Edward Wayne Keeton (Charlene) of Bullock, Danny Eugene Keeton (Scharla) of Oxford; two granddaughters, Havanna Keeton of Bullock, Danielle Keeton of Oxford, a grandson, Nicholas Keeton of Bullock; brother-in-law, Thomas Cook of Oxford; three special nieces, Cindy Cook, Beth Cook and Christie Cook West all of Oxford; great nieces, Jeana Sue Dement, Kolbe Lyn Thomas, Kadee Ann Thomas, Kayla Cook, Kyndall Cook, and a great nephew, Jacob Cook. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard M. Wilkinson (Dick) and her sister, Betty Jean Cole Cook.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening March 7, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Stovall United Methodist Church and other times at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Stovall United Methodist Church by Rev. John Yount. Burial will be in the Royster Family Cemetery in Bullock, North Carolina.
The family appreciates Nicholas Keeton, Jacob Cook, Tyler Hughes, Landrum Carver, Curtis Yancey, Tommy Yancey and Allen Yancey for serving as pallbearers to carry her home.
