TROY - Curtis C. (Curt) Beckner passed away on October 13 at the Ohio Hospice of Miami County inpatient facility in Troy and is now with Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He was born in Darke County, OH on September 29, 1939 to the late Harvey Beckner and Rhoda (Skiles) Beckner. He married Beverly Fry on July 31, 1960. She survives.
Their family was blessed with two sons, Mitch (April) Beckner, and Matt (Kim) Beckner, all of Troy, four grandchildren, Darcee (Dustin) Longstreet, Cincinnati, Ariel Beckner (Patrick Fryman), Alex and Casey Beckner, and one great-granddaughter, Alura Fryman, all of Troy.
He was preceded in death by his brother Archie Beckner.
Curt graduated from the Dayton Art Institute in Industrial Design and during his career was an automotive stylist for Ford and Chrysler, taught Vocational Education at Upper Valley JVS and worked 13 years at Hobart Brothers.
He committed his life to the Lord in 1966 and did his best to love and follow Him the rest of his life. Curt loved to study the Bible and led many home and church Bible studies. He also liked tinkering in the garage and working in the garden. He handcrafted numerous cross necklaces from iron nails and enjoyed gifting them to both friends and strangers.
Visitation will be held at the Piqua Church of the Nazarene, 400 South Sunset from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25. A celebration of his life will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Lincoln Robinson officiating.
