Curtis T Christmas was born on June 30, 1978, to Sandra Davis and Derrick Christmas in Chicago, IL. He attended Dulles elementary and Edward Coles elementary school, both in Chicago. He attended Chicago Vocational High School (CVS), but after a move ended up graduating from Thornridge High School in Dolton, IL in 1996. After high school Curtis attended South Suburban College in South Holland, IL for two years before joining the military.

Curtis accepted Christ as his savior at an early age and was a member of Valley Kingdom Ministries in South Holland, IL. Being the oldest of four children, he readily took on the responsibility of watching over his brothers and sister. He was an awesome young man who was always eager to drive his grandmother to church and usher his brothers and sisters around to school and other activities.

Curtis completed Boot Camp at the Naval Station in Great Lakes, IL. He attended Navy ATD school in Pensacola FL. He served in AIMD and HC-2 Squadron. During his military career he travelled the world and served on USS Iwo Jima. He was a Navy certified fire fighter and plane handler. He was stationed in Norfolk, VA where he married and had children. After serving his country honorably, Curtis was employed at the Naval Shipyard in Virginia for 10 years.

Curtis then moved back to Illinois where he divorced, and lived out the rest of his years happily as a retired disabled veteran. He transitioned on May 17, 2023, at his home in Matteson, IL. Curtis was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. You could usually find Curtis relaxing with family and friends and engaging in long robust discussions about anything and everything. He was an avid reader and researcher. He had an infectious smile and gave the best hugs. He will be missed tremendously.

Curtis was preceded in death by his son Canaan Christmas; his grandmother Willie Mae Davis; his father Derrick Christmas; and three uncles; Tommie Davis, Michael Davis, and Christopher Woulard.

Curtis is survived by his mother Sandra Davis; his children Caleb Christmas, Caleyah Christmas & bonus daughter Hannah Chapel; his sister Nneka Howell (Rayya); his God sister Chantal Norvel (Douglas), his brothers Willie Howell & Kori Howell (Asilah); his uncle Daniel Davis; his aunts Virginia Davis and Pam Davis; his nephews Jeremiah Howell & Yari Howell, Chris Daniel & Caleb Daniel; his cousins Tina Smith (Leroy), Destinie Williams, & Warren Burnett Jr; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
