ForeverMissed

On Monday, June 1st, 2020, the Richardson family lost their brother, father and grandfather.

Curtis Willard Richardson was born on December 28th, 1945.
Curtis was a loving, giving, person and a great friend to all he knew. He had a great sense of humor and always had a "jokie joke". Under any circumstance, Curtis always knew how to make you smile.  Allowing your world to be brighter, even if only for a moment. Curtis may not have been perfect, but he was perfect  for his family.

Living in Compton in the 60s, Curtis never expected to make it to age 21. So to be 74 years old was a great accomplishment for him, especially since it allowed him to see his children grow and the birth of his grandchildren whom he adored. These experiences allowed Curtis to feel as though he was in heaven long before God called him home.

Curtis was preceded in death by his mother Aileen, grandmother Elsie, grandson Javion, sister Rosie and brother Bill. Curtis is survived by his sister Roberta, brothers: Marvin, Sammy and Theodore. Children: James, Curtis Jr, Rosie Lynn (Tony), Malinda (Sean), Felicia (Jose) and Ebonie. Grandchildren: Malinda, Michelle, Michael Jr., Jesse, Jaleesa, Curtis III, Michael, Christina, Julius, Edward, Eva, Tiani, Nathan, Ameir, Jaeda, Dwight, Daisha,  his beautiful great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

Curtis will truly be missed! In his own famous words,. . . .  "And that's a fact jack!"

Butchie I remember when we first met at the age of 12. We were at your great grandmother’s house, my Aunt Flossie. Been close ever since. I had just talked to you a couple weeks and we were talking about us being here this long not expecting it. You will be truly missed because you could always lift spirits in the darkest of times. Love you always.

First and foremost i send condolences from my family to yours . My father DEWITT CHESTER TODD was also in the same nursing home with CURTIS which is located next to GRANDVIEW HOSPITAL. CURTIS called my father his buddy. He would check on my father daily . They were very good friends and both from a military bacvkground. Curtis always had a smile and kind words . I am so sorry for your loss. My father passed in 2017 . I will always remember CURTIS.

Butchie,
I'm going to miss you big cousin. Our weekly phone calls, laughs about life's daily challenges and just checking on each other at least twice a week. You brought so much joy and told hilarious stories and still tried to fool me on the phone every now and then.
I'm glad you were able to enjoy your music and blow everybody in the building out the box!
I know you were ready because your conversation for several months have been about being thankful for longevity you didn't expect to have.
God Bless your soul and " I'll see ya when I see ya In a minute"
Loves Ya

Daddy

June 13, 2020
I think it was around Christmas time, grandma picked us up for church, today was my big solo. I had to be about 11 or 12 my memory is a little cloudy (CRS). Anywho it’s time to sing and Ebonie and I take our places, the music starts and my heart starts beating faster than a race car. I look out in the crowd to find comfort and there he was, Daddy was there to hear us sing. He was fresh and clean from head to toe looking like Shaft with his shades on. My heart calmed and I started singing Silent Night. I recall since my nerves were good, I thought I put my heart into it and show my vocal ability just a little. I hit this high note and I saw my dad pull his shades down on the tip of his nose and give me this look as to say “ ok babygirl”. It feels like yesterday I was standing in that church looking at my dad, and now I won’t be able to see him again. Daddy was One of a kind, he always had jokes and everyone loved him. I loved him very much and every time I spoke with him I would let him know... just never thought that would be my last time We will miss you daddy and that’s a fact jack!

My Friend Mr.C

June 12, 2020
When I think of my friend Mr. C. I smile. He was a genuine friend and always ready to help someone out. I didn't know him when he was younger but the wisdom he shared was always on point. He seriously thought about his relationship with his creator. And we had many talks about how he knew Jehovah God had made his life possible. He had deep thoughts about his relationship with  God. I look forward to seeing him in the future resurrection that Jesus promised at John 5:28,29 in the Bible. Then my friend will be restored to perfect life. I will miss my friend until then.
