Obituary Notice

February 15, 2014

Cynthia “Cindy” Jarnberg, age 56, of Princeton, passed away on February 14th, 2014. Cindy was born to James Thurman, Sr. and Judith Finn on September 21st, 1957 in Golden Valley, MN. She attended St. Anne’s Catholic School in Minneapolis, MN. Cindy was raised by her mother and step – father, Jim Lodermeier until her mother fell ill. Her and her mother moved in with Cindy’s grandparents until her mother’s passing when Cindy was just 16.  She then lived with her father and completed her education at Robbinsdale Cooper High School (Class of ’75) in New Hope, MN. Cindy grew up the only child of Judy and JT, but was given the gift of siblings when her father remarried. She loved her half brothers and being older than her brothers, she enjoyed being the big sister.

Cindy was united in marriage to James Jarnberg on January 14th, 1978 at Grace Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park, MN. Cindy and Jim had two children, and Cindy was able to stay home with the children while they were young.

Cindy was put on this earth to be a “Mima”, she adored her grandchildren. She played an enormous role in getting the grandkids through the fussy nights, the teething, the fevers, the terrible two’s, and the even more terrible three’s.

Cindy loved to create things. She would grab some fabric, thread and needle and make a beautiful dress or some rows of fabric and make a wonderful quilt. She decorated her Christmas tree with ornaments that she and the grandkids had made. She could bake, cook and craft just about anything, and she was able to share this passion with her grandkids.

Towards the end of her life, Cindy required around the clock care. The West family opened their home to provide the necessary comfort and assistance. With the support of many, she was able to spend one more birthday, one more Christmas, one more New Year and one more Valentine’s Day surrounded by family.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Ed and Lola Finn; Uncle Wayne “Red” Beaudry, cousins Danny Beaudry and Andrew Goering and infant granddaughter, Lola West.

The people that Cindy loved most in her life were her children, Jessica (Albert) West of Princeton, Jeremy (Kristina) Jarnberg of Big Lake; Stepdaughter, Cara (Mike) Pavek of Rosemont; grandchildren, Bailey and Kelsey West of Princeton, Riley Spoden, Mariah Granby, and Trey Jarnberg of Big Lake; her lifelong friend and husband, James Jarnberg; her brothers, Jimmy and Steven Thurman; childhood friend, Gwen Tacheny; and her consort of 19 years, Daniel Wright.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the Fairview Home Care & Hospice team. You made so many special memories for our family from singing us to sleep or getting us to sing along, the massages, the uplifting and sometimes funny visits from Chaplain Dale; to Karen, Norma and Louise for breaking through that rough exterior to get to know the real Cindy, you made her curse, you made her laugh and you allowed us all to smile. Your team has hearts of gold and has left an everlasting impact on our lives. Thank you to the team of PCA’s from Home Advantage Health Care.
