From the first moment I walked into your home till the last moments of your life, you blessed me with your kind words. I truly felt that love which was enough to go around to everyone you came across. I never lacked. Your love for your wife, children, and others, was pure. You made sure anyone around you was happy and provided for.
Living simply yet successful. Always grateful never greedy. God-fearing, peace loving and gentle, with a great sense of humour. Full of wisdom yet so humble. Papa, you were a role model to many and your life on earth was exemplary. Through your consistent words of encouragement enriched in wisdom, we achieved goals we never thought were attainable.
Seven years your daughter-in-law seemed like a lifetime. I am immensely blessed to have you as my father-in-law. You made me believe that hearing my voice made you feel better each time we spoke, even on your sick bed. I wish you did not have to leave us so soon Papa. Your grandchildren love you and miss you so much.
Ezeifedi, you have left a vacuum that no one can fill. It really hurts so much that you are gone. But knowing that you are gone to be with your creator, heavens will be glad to have welcomed an Angel.
Rest in perfect peace Papa.
Your dear Daughter-In-Law, Noro Ozoh

January 28, 2021 was the day I lost someone very dear to me. My grandfather was by far one of the most amazing people I had the honour and pleasure of knowing. Even more so, I am proud to say that I am related to him. He was a good husband, father and more so an amazing grandfather. I used to be so angry when he would shout at me to go read my books instead of being on the phone, looking back now I realized he only wanted the best for me. Grandpa, I will always miss you. But I have so many wonderful memories to hang on to. You were a role model. Your guidance and love will carry me through to the end of my days. I love you Grandpa, until we meet again.

Papa I call you a king because that is what you really are. In your lifetime you made impossible things to be possible, you touched so many lives positively. I call you a king because you have all the qualities of a king. I could not have asked for a better father-in-law. Papa, we all love you, but God loves you most. May you enjoy your stay with God. And may your perfect soul rest in perfect peace.

My dear father, there is never a day that passes by that the thought of you doesn't flash my mind, my heart sank when I heard of your passing away, I miss your jovial nature, your intelligence, your love, candid advise and your pure heart of gold. There are not many men in this world like you. I learnt so much from you, yet I did not tap enough from your vast wealth of knowledge. A thousand words is not enough to describe you nor pen down the sadness I feel inside. Am comforted knowing you are in a better place watching over us. Rest in the bosom of the Lord till we meet to part no more.

To my loving father
Seems like yesterday that I watched you take your last breath. I tried to move you, then I realised you were gone forever. You fought long and hard to be with us, but the Lord wanted you home immediately. You were a father, a brother, an adviser to people around you. You always put others before you, making sure that all were happy and peaceful. I am happy to call you my father and am proud to be called your daughter. If I had to do life over again, I would choose you to be my dad.
I know you now watch over and protect us, although we cannot hear your voice or see your smiling face, we know deep down in our hearts you have not left us. Your endless love will continue to bind us as family. One day I believe we will rejoice with you when God calls us home.
Rest in PEACE NNAM EZEIFEDI

I do not know where to start Papa. All I keep wishing is to hear your voice saying one of your favourite quotes during morning admonition; “No matter how far you have gone on a wrong path, turn back”. When Dr. Ukwuaku broke the sad news to me, I immediately thought of who could replace you. Alas! No one! I broke down in tears asking, “God why?” The 28th of January has become a date I would not like to remember yet it cannot be forgotten. I still cannot believe you are no more.
You virtually lived your life for us, your siblings, and others. You made your life to become a template on how to live a happy and fulfilling life. You would always stress the importance of being prayerful and hardworking to become successful in life. You were a man of peace, honour and dignity.
If I could write a story about you, it would be the greatest ever of a loving and caring father. A thousand pages would still be unable to tell how much you were cherished and missed. Death truly leaves this memory no one can heal.
May you continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord.
I pray for re-incarnation.
Laa n’udo Papa m!

His Life

Biography

March 11, 2021
This Great man, Cyril Igwedumogu Ozoh was born into the family of Nze Ozoh Nkurumeh and Lolo Nwaeyiogu Martina Ozoh on the 25th day of December 1940. Before he started his education, he travelled to Benin City to stay with his elder brother, late Emerole Ozoh who was at that time into rubber tapping business. During his stay there, he met a catholic seminarian who started teaching him how to read and write. Because of his avid interest in education, he came back home to start school.

He attended the St Dominic Central school in Awo-Idemili. After his first year (Standard 1) in school which was free due to the then Federal Government’s policy, he had to do some after school jobs to afford both his younger brother, Alfred, and his school fees.

Upon completing his education, he got enrolled at the Uzoigwe Medicine store Awo-Idemili as an apprentice. Cyril was so good and dedicated to the training that his boss, Dan Uzoigwe of blessed memory entrusted their important clients to him. Afterwards, he started a patent medicine store at Eke-Ubahaeze. During the Nigerian Civil War, he was conscripted into the defuncted Biafran army. So, the business had to shut down.

At the beginning of 1970, after the Civil War, Cyril travelled to Onitsha to set up same business, this time in partnership with Hyacinth Igbom, a close friend he met during the war. After one year in Onitsha, they moved the business to Lagos. By the end of 1972, the business had grown to two branches. Cyril and Hyacinth shared the proceeds from the business and went their separate ways. With the proceeds he grew his business having more stores. He also diversified into transport service in 1976 where he started a company called Chimdi Express. Other businesses he ventured into were cooking gas sales point where he distributed for NIDOGAS as well as Liquor sub-distribution centre. Due to the pressure that came with the management of these businesses, he had to settle some of his apprentices with almost all the stores and sold the other businesses. By 1986 he had started a wholesale pharmacy business- Cyrinno Pharmaceuticals Limited in Balogun Lagos Island. He went on to become distributor to Sterling-Winthrop (now Sanofi), Glaxo (now GSK) and Bayer. He retired as an ex-officio member of Lagos State Medicine Dealers Association (LSMDA).

Cyril got wedded to his loving and caring wife, Lolo Rose Nneji, daughter of Nnadiekwe Egbule of Ubahaeze, Awo-Idemili on the 1st of December 1973 at St Mary’s Catholic Church Ajegunle. Before his demise, God blessed them with nine children and numerous grandchildren.

After spending forty-five years in Lagos, in 2016, he and his wife retired to their house in Owerri in Imo state just to be closer home. Cyril died on the morning of January 28th, 2021 after a brief illness. May he rest in the bosom of the Lord.

Ezeifedi, as he was fondly called lived a life of simplicity and honesty. His mantra had always been ‘Do your best and believe in God’.
