You made this a beautiful place to be.
Never too busy to stop and chat, never too frazzled for a welcome gaze.
That was you. And no one can ever take your place
In our hearts, and in our minds
You remain. Always, forever, the same
This memorial website was created in the memory of our friend and colleague, Cyril Sahadath. We will remember him forever. Please share your stories, pictures and memories of Cyril.
I was saddened to hear of Cyril's recent passing.
I knew him when we were boys andcompeting hurlders at LOSSA etc back in our high school years. Our competitive relationship continued for several years, including when we were at University.
I always thought highly of Cyril, his competitive nature and outgoing/friendly spirit.
I'd admired how Cyril and stayed in the sport and had become such an accomplished coach.
My condolences to his family.
Martin Heenan
Mr Sahadath was the perfect example of a teacher who was committed to the improvement and success of his students whether they were track athletes or special needs students.
He was a people person-but what else would you expect-he was a Trini-lol!
I had the priviledge of knowing him as a former student of PHS and my son also had the privelidge to know him as well.
He has blessed generations and his legacy will live on in our hearts and in our student's achievements.
My family extends our condolences to the Sahadath family, you have much to be proud of.
He is a true legend.
God's comfort and Peace be with you.
Jameela Parris.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our beloved teachers. Cyril Sahadath is considered an icon at Pickering High School. He has worked at PHS for 25 years and is an established school leader in many ways. As Head of the Special Education Department Cyril provided support for students with special needs and for students ‘at risk’. He will be greatly missed, not only in his capacity as veteran Teacher-Mentor but perhaps, most importantly, as a father figure to many students. He will be most remembered as Head Coach for the PHS Track & Field Team. Amongst his many accomplishments, June 2011 comes to mind. It was in Sudbury, Ontario when PHS won both Overall Girls and Boys titles and back-to-back victories at the OFSAA Track & Field Championships. This meet is considered one of North America’s most competitive track meets every year. Cyril brought the PHS Track Team to win 13 OFSAA Championships over his coaching career, which makes him the only coach to accomplish this feat. Furthermore, he and his teams have been recognized by the Town of Ajax for their many accomplishments in this very competitive discipline.
Cyril was always quick to compliment the students by saying, “the kids did a great job”. Let’s take a moment to say… Cyril, you did a great job!
On behalf of the students and staff at Pickering High School, we send our condolences to the Sahadath family.
