D. Harry Caulfield, Sr. of Pennsville, NJ, age 73, passed away Friday, December 8th, at home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Sharptown, NJ, he was the son of the late Anna DeMaris Newkirk, and the late James Caulfield.
Harry retired from General Motors in 1992 after 30 years of working in maintenance. He was an avid golfer and prominent on the archery circuit, in which he won numerous awards, including ranking #1 in NJ. He enjoyed camping and visiting Orange Lake resort in Florida with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting in Potter County, PA and golfing in Myrtle Beach with his many friends. He had a passion for restoring, building, and showing vintage trucks, as well as maintaining an upholstery business. He enjoyed woodworking and building homes. Harry would be the first person to help anyone in need. Harry always liked to be surrounded with family and friends. For the past 8 years, his greatest joy was spending time with his little buddy, Kyle.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna Caulfield (Ayars). Daughters Lisa Dean (Chris), Linda Sorrels (Mark), Amber Newell, and son Robert Newell (Jess). Grandaughters Lauren Finucan (Casey), Emily Dean,and Hailey Newell. Great Grandchildren Kyle and Alayna Burton. Sister and best friend Betty Caulfield (Diane). Brothers Tom Caulfield (Joan) and Jack Caulfield. Predeceased by his mom Anna DeMaris Newkirk, father James Caulfield and son David H. Caulfield, Jr.
A celebration of Harry's life will be held at Sharptown Church on Tuesday, December 19th, where friends may call from 5-6 pm and service beginning at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
