His Life

Thompson, Dacon, was born October 11, 1922 to the late Peter and Ethel Thompson. He was raised in Chesson, AL, where he confessed Christ and joined the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. He was employed with the Montgomery County Commission for several years until his retirement.
He was married to the late Lula W. Thompson and to this union six children were born.

Dacon was also preceded in death by two children, Samuel L. Wilson and Donald L. Thompson and one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Bell (Frank) Edwards.

  He leaves to cherish his memories, four children, Justina R. Thompson, Boston, MA, Christine (Roger) Marks, Hardaway, AL, Adell (Anna) Thompson and Gloria (James) Williams, all of Tuskegee, AL; a special and devoted granddaughter he raised as his own, Shakeena T. Youngblood; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Annie Lewis and Lillie (Robert) Felton, all of Montgomery, AL; three nieces, Mary Bray, Leola Roll, both of Boston, MA, and his special niece, Davina Walker; two nephews, Donald Edwards, Montgomery, AL and Phillip Edwards, Mississippi; along with a host of cousins and friends.
