Her Life

Daiszell “MyDaisy” Lakes McCambry, born on March 8, 1912 in Troup County to Charles and Anna Black Lakes. She departed this life early Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017.

On May 14, 1933, she married Clarence Lee McCambry who preceded her in death. From this matrimony came four children, Vernia Arnold, Mozell Williams (deceased), Clarence Lee McCambry Jr. (deceased), and Charlie E. McCambry.

She was a member of Lowe’s Temple CME Church of Grantville. Where she served dutifully in all phases of church life, in any capacity where she was needed. She later joined John Wesley United Methodist Church of Grantville. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, a unit of North Georgia Conference. She was a life member of the New Royal Chapter #89 Order of Eastern Star P.H.A. She retired after working 35 years for the Coweta County School System as a Cafeteria Manager. She also worked as an Avon Representative for 40 years.

She leaves to cherish and rejoice in her memory two children, Vernia Arnold and Charlie McCambry (Billie). Fifteen grandchildren, Thomas (Dottie), Sherese, Clancie, Averell Arnold Sr., Teresa Bohannon (Micheal), Carl Sr. (Victoria), Michael Williams (Andrea), Corey Way, Joey, Pamela, Adrienne McCambry, Veronica Mixon (Milton) and Myesha McCambry. Two Grandchildren preceded her in death, Cynthia and Kimberly McCambry. Twenty-six great-grandchildren, Tekali Arnold, Ashley and Clarence Davenport, Dmitrius, Averell Jr., Morgan Arnold, Temica Niblack (Darrin), Tamyia, Micheal Bohannon Jr. (Sarah), Joan Williams, Kristin Gadson, Teonna, Carl Williams II, Micah Sharp, Carl Jr., Karlie Williams, Solomon and Shawndrea Jones, Mykell Williams, Isis and A’she Edwards, Yayah Vaughn, Syed Holmes, Alexander and Alexandria Mixon. One great-grandchild preceded her in death, Thomas Arnold Jr. Six great-great grandchildren, Marco and Elysia Rivera, Maleek Arnold-Frisbey, Reagan and Jackson Lamontagne and Carter Bohannon; also a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
