He was smart, kind, funny, the best storyteller, stubborn, and the best PaPa a girl could have ever hoped for. There are so many wonderful memories that I will treasure, but a few stick out all the time: he would never wear a shirt if he didn't have to, he whistled like a songbird, and when I was with him I felt loved and accepted no matter what. Grammy, Melody, and Sarah, all my love and best hugs.

Hello Sarah, Melody and Millie, Cindi told us about Mr. Shepley last night, and we are certainly sorry to hear about him passing. If there is anything we can do, we will be glad to do it for you. Will try to get by there one day soon. Love you and think of you often. Ellen and Alex Poe

I worked with Dale at FCI, Butner when we first arrived there in 1976 and remember going to his retirement dinner in 1981. Dale was a very good, thoughtful and kind person. My most sincere condolences to Millie and all of his family members.
