Dale Edwin “Shep” Shepley, 84, a resident of Butner, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his home.
A native of Vernon Co., Missouri, he was the son of the late Otto Dale Shepley and Ernestine Arnold. He was a veteran of the US Army, a member of Church of Christ, and retired from the Federal Bureau of prisons in 1981.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-five years, Mildred Cauthon Shepley of the home, two daughters, Melody S. Bain (Calvin) and Sarah S. Hardin (Dale) both of Butner, a sister, Joy S. Gatewood of Kansas, two brothers, Sam Shepley of Kansas and Terry Shepley of Missouri, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mona Lisa Shepley and a son, Eddie Dale Shepley and his brothers Robert Shepley and Billy Shepley.

I was surprise when Juanita, called and told me Dale had passed away.
I was at home today and yesterday. Saw Pat, but she didn't tell me. Douglas and I plan to come tomorrow afternoon.
