Dale William Layng, 59, of Loves Park passed away Friday April 30, 2021 in Oak Lawn, Illinois surrounded by family. Born June 27, 1961, in Rockford, the son of Raymond P. and Dona J. (MacMurchy) Layng. Dale’s strong faith was a daily part of his life as he had a love for Jesus Christ. He was an avid Cubs fan, and a natural athlete. He enjoyed playing hockey, softball, ping-pong, and water skiing with the Ski Broncs. He attended every event his kids had and was a great coach. Survivors include his wife, Diane; children Angie (Zach Clark) Layng, Jason Layng, and Alexandra (Dani) Doty; sisters, Laurie (Juan) Terré, Lorraine Gustafson, Patricia Vespa, and Nancy (Ray) Painter; special aunt, Jan Creviston; numerous nieces and nephews; and canine companion, Ranger. Predeceased by his parents and brother Brian Layng.

A memorial visitation will be held 4:30-5:45 PM, Monday May 17, 2021 with service at 6PM in the chapel at City First Church, 5950 Spring Creek Rd. Rockford. (Chapel located between the main church campus and Guilford High School.)
