Glover, Dalley Woodrow (Woody) passed away January 3, 2015, at age 73, at his home in Venice Fl. with family at his bedside. Woody was born in Cameron West Va. He later moved to Taylor, Michigan, and Channahon, Illinois, where he and Karen met, married and later moved to Venice, Florida.

Woody served our country in the Army, in the Vietnam War from 1963-1969, receiving an honorable discharge.

Woody is retired from pipeline construction. He shared his time with their family pets, Whiskers, Romeo, Foxy, and Paco, their African Grey Parrot. He had so much fun teaching Paco many phrases and words.

Woody is survived by his wife, Karen, his daughter Loretta Strang (David), his son Shawn, also step son Tom Holloway (Melissa) and step daughter Christy Holloway-Beal(David). Woody is also survived by two brothers, Roger (Norma) and Gary from Michigan, a sister MaryLou Glover, from Florida. Woody has five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Leontine Van Der Meer. Woody was preceded in death by his parents Dalley and Della (Strait), and three sisters, Bernadine, Margie, and Edna Mae.

Full Military Honor Services for Dalley Woodrow Glover was attended by friends and family on January 20th at the Sarasota National Cemetery located 9810 State Route 72. ( I-75 Exit 205 East, “ Clark Road “ )

In Lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to Tidewell Hospice for a brick, in Woody’s honor. The family is extremely grateful for the never ending care and support given to Woody, and to them, by everyone at Tidewell Hospice. A special thank you to our friend, Pam Jacobs, who assisted Karen with his care and support.

I have some great memories of Woody & Karen when they lived in Channahon. We used to ge together with other couples and play Euchre, he was always great fun.
