ForeverMissed
It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Collinsworth announce he left this world on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the age of 63.

Daniel was born February 25, 1958 in New Albany, Indiana. He moved to Texas with his family as a young boy, in which he remained for the duration of his life.

With a disarming smile, he was a natural caregiver, music lover, sports aficionado, and free-thinker. His life furnished with simple pleasures; he was a true original who would give you the shirt off his back. He possessed a quick wit and charm, and handily found kind words for those in need. Daniel’s deep adoration for his family has been forever immortalized by his character.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his mother, Freda Collinsworth; stepfather, Fred Hearlson; sisters, Rose Harwell, Rebecca Clark, Cathy Riley, Judy Curtis and Sharon Castle; brothers, Douglas Collinsworth and David Collinsworth; brothers-in-law, Ricky Clark, Rancy Riley and Ivan Castle Sr.; many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” Rest in peace, Daniel.

At his request, no service will be held.

Heavy heart here. What a gem. What a good fellow. He made me feel welcome in so many ways, so easily, as his smile was contagious, and nature genuine. It was a true privilege to meet this legend, and to be, befriended by him. He had more to teach this world, alas. A great son, brother, uncle and compatriot, missed by all.

Hinc illae lacrimae.

“On the death of a friend, we should consider that the fates through confidence have devolved on us the task of a double living, that we have henceforth to fulfill the promise of our friend's life also, in our own, to the world.”
-Henry David Thoreau

My darling Uncle! I did not think we would be here this soon. It is with deepest sorrow and sadness that I write this tribute to you. I miss our near daily emails. I love that our last conversation was about your "nephews" (Wallace and Atticus). Thank you for introducing me to Led Zeppelin and all the rock and roll greats when I was a young girl. I love (and giggle) that you shared secrets with me. Thank you for keeping everyone safe during COVID, and for taking such good care of Nanny. I love that you loved Dustin; "I'm so happy that you found a man that has a good heart...". I still can't believe that I will never be able to meet you and hug you again in this life. Thank you for always being my biggest fan and for loving me. Sleep well, Daniel. I miss you a lot.

Texas Voter

Shared by Racheal Curtis on June 2, 2021
We talked politics all the time and I convinced him to register to vote in the 2020 election. I mailed him the Texas voter registration form with a stamped return envelope. He emailed me a copy of his voter registration card when he received it in the mail. He was so proud. I was so proud. He voted for the first time during his lifetime in 2020. He trusted me, and I will always honor this.
