Gregg should have had a heads up on her. I'm still the same ole bag lady with no money. Can't make enough to support oneself these days.
I love you. Happy Birthday to you.
You left too soon.
BUTTERFLY
A poem for Daniel
As I was walking
in sorrow
thinking of the times
we'd shared
a butterfly danced
around me
white cloud
in the evening air
I knew that your soul
was finally home free
"but it felt like a blessing"
was the message
you were sending me
telling me
now you can fly
now you can soar
high above this world
your troubles
are no more
this love of ours
will never die
fly with your angels
butterfly
A few days after
your loved ones
gathered and prayed
in their lives
you were a blessing
now they must
send you
on your way
as I got up
to speak
it caught my eye
white cloud
against the window
a butterfly
now you can fly
now you can soar
high above this world
your troubles
are no more
now the time has come
for us to
say goodbye
one day we'll
all meet again
together
we will fly
all butterflies

Who is to really know
Why you left a year ago
In the season
Of turning leaves
Summer is gone
Now theres a winters breeze
The Angels lifted
Your brtlliant soul
Your where the gentle
Hearted spirits flow
Once we laughed
When we were young
Held each other up
When there was no-one
Now alone
with just memories
Each passing thought
Burns deeper in me
Each day engulfed
In emptiness
I long for those days
When I was blessed
With your sweet preasence
and gracefulness
I love you Daniel
I miss you so much

When I was residing in the floating island homes in Foster City CA. I
received a phone call one afternoon that took me totally by surprise.
Daniel was calling me from San Diego, he had just been released from the Navy with an honorable discharge and was wanting to spend some time at my place. I had never been to San Diego and was still rather new to the area so we scheduled a short flight from San Diego to South San Francisco International Airpot. We met at the airport and drove to Foster City where he relaxed as I made a steak and salad dinner.
I looked for some kind of entertainment for us to go see when I ran across this ad for "Finocchio's" a female impersonation showcase with live shows for tourists. Its located on Broadway in San Francisco.so
we got ready for the evening show and into San Francisco we went. (Daniel had never seen San Francisco in person so he was really excited.) Once there he was in awe at the beauty but we had plenty of time to look, right now we had to make this show. I put in reservations for one showing. But was invited to stay for every show, and we did.
We were seated right in front of the stage, the show had a two drink minimum so we received two drinks a piece.
I was looking around and noticed that this real old lady was smiling, winking and flirting with me. I told Daniel about the woman but before he could look the woman was at our table. She introduced herself as the owner of the club and sent us both another round of drinks. She told us that we would look good in her line up of stars. Daniel started to laugh nervously and she left our table and said "think about it"
We were dumbfounded! "Daniel, she wants you to be a female impersonater in her show"! "No Kim, she wants you for her shows."
"He's right", "I want you to be one of my new highlights" "Oh my" was all I could get out then the woman told us that she had scheduled a trip to Burbank for that night to an underground showcase that runs all night. So for the hell of it we went to one of the largest drag show extravaganzas. But early the next morning Daniel explained to all of our new made friends that we were new to California and that that was a wonderfull welcome and that we appreciated the compliments but that I was a female, "a real one" . Daniel later became good friends with one of the men in the group and had started his love for the city. Soon he moved from my place and moved to the city where he would spend the rest of his life..
