What a wonderful and encouraging soul Dad was to me. He always said I love you when you were leaving and always gave me encouragement when I would be studying for test for school. He always had something funny to say and always had a smile on his face. I will miss our talks and watching the cooking channel with you and stirring your martini 32 times. Until we meet again my friend!

Grandpa your life was full of loving deeds,
Forever thoughtful of our special needs,
Today and tomorrow, my whole life through,
I will always love and cherish you. xoxo

Eulogy

November 20, 2011

Mr. Cornwall was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Dan was a man that was kind and generous. He loved all of us with such a joy and pride that it lit up his face every time we were together. There was never a time that I could not talk to him or that he would offer advice (asked for or not). Some of you may not have known our Dad the way we did, but those who did not get to see this side of him missed out on knowing a great man. A man that made sure that his family was taken care of even if it meant he had to sacrifice something important to him. Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult things you can go through. It occurred to me that Dad indeed lived his life wonderfully. Dad was well loved and he has done so many things on earth and I'm sure he'll do much more in heaven. I will forever be grateful to have known Mr. Cornwall. I will forever be grateful that Dad was there at the right place and the right time to help me with my life with wonderful words of encouragement, love and support. I will forever be grateful I had the last two years to spend my life with such a wonderful man like Mr. Cornwall. All the memories we have shared with him will forever be cherished and remembered, Dad will forever live in my heart...In our hearts. Dad is in heaven now and we are here at his memorial service. This is not the time for us to grieve his death but it's our time to celebrate his life. Don't ever forget Dan. He never wanted to see people cry or be upset. He wanted to make everyone happy. So at this moment when we are about to lay his soul to rest, let's all think back and remember how Dad touched our lives. How he made us laugh and how good Dad was as a person. This is not the moment for us to shed our tears but we should be thankful that we were given the chance to have known a man named Daniel J Cornwall. Dad will forever be missed but I know in the right time we will meet again. We will all meet Dan again and he'll make us laugh in tears again and probably ask if we would like to go to the boat.

I say cheers Dad and I solute you, you wonderful man!

A Poem of Life

Life is but a stopping place,

A pause in what's to be,

A resting place along the road,

to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

Different paths along the way,

We all were meant to learn some things,

but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,.

Far greater than we know.

For some the journey's quicker,

For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,

We'll claim a great reward,

And find an everlasting peace,

Together with the lord.
