I first met Dan in 2001 when he and Rich so kindly accepted Tara, Kristin and I into their home over spring break. They were gracious hosts. I learned a lot that week and had the most delicious chicken salad I’ve ever tasted. Dan was so kind and a lot of fun. I saw him a couple more times over the years, like when Tara got married. He always had a smile on his face and was genuinely kind. I am grateful for him, as Tara has become one of my best friends. Though his life was not long enough, he impacted many people while he lived. ♥️

Remembering my sweet cousin, Danny. He fought through so much with such a positive attitude. Remembering his loving husband, daughter, sister, and brothers. Sending them strength.

There was never a dull moment with Dan. He was full of laughter, joy, wonder, love and could find the silver lining in any situation. I was honored to have officiated Dan and Rich's first commemoration of their loving relationship. It was a packed house and he loved every minute. In the midst of it, all was his daughter Tara who exemplifies the wonderful spirit of joy and laughter he so easily adorned. He was also a wonderful husband to Rich. Yes, he could be a handful but Rich remained devoted to his life partner, as did Dan. I will never forget your smile or your kindness. I will miss you dearly. ❤️

My Uncle Danny always has and always will hold a very special place in my heart. When I was little just the mere mention of his name would make me smile. I was drawn to him like a magnet and always wanted to be where he was. He has a laugh so infectious you couldn’t help but laugh along. He had the ability to find joy in any situation and a smile that I could literally feel. Sadly I didn’t get to see him as much as I would have liked, but the memory of his laugh still makes my smile. I know his Mom and my Mom are rejoicing to be reunited with him.

There is just so much to say about my twin brother, I don’t know where to start. First the beginning 30 years I would tell him I was older, and then he told me I’m younger at age 30, lol I’ve been apart from my brother since we were 14 when my sister saved my life and took me in. Dan and I always knew when the other was hurting. We have had a lot of visits back and forth between Missouri-and Ohio and Tampa and Cleveland over the years. It’s hard to explain how close me and my brother were, but we talked weekly. When visiting or talking on the telephone he was such a happy guy. He never complained with all the medical problems and chronic pain. I had to dig it out of him because I already knew. He is free of pain now. He is in the arms of my mother and sister. Their gain, our loss
I send my love to my brother-in-law Rich and niece Tara ❤️

Though we lived far apart most of my life, you always tried your best to grow our bond. You always called me, sang Happy Birthday, visited, flew me to Florida to spend time with you. Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of Pride. Thank you for showing me that love is love and teaching me to be a true LGTBQ+ ally.  Watching your love for others is inspiring and has given me values I pass along to my daughter. I love you, Dad. You are always in my heart

Strawberry shortcake

February 28, 2022
I remember when Daniel went to the Strawberry Festival with the Social Club at the Lighthouse in 2018. Much to my surprise, when they returned, he came back with a strawberry shortcake for me!!! What a sweet gesture on his part that he would remember me. Then, on the final day of the Independent Living Class, he gifted me a balloon with flowers as a goodbye gift. He was always thinking of others and how to make others feel special. He holds a special place in my heart!!
