This website was created in memory of Dan, who lost his battle with diabetes on December 18, 2018.  

Dan was a donor, and we're praying they were able to use his body to bring healing and hope to other.  To honor his decision to be a donor, we're asking any memorials to be given to the organization that oversaw his donation: 

Gift Of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Services.

One of Dan's greatest accomplishments was serving in the US Navy, so we've chosen to honor him for that.

A full honor military service will be held on Friday May 10, 2019 at 12:00pm at the Danville National Cemetery.

Here are directions to the cemetery:

Main Cemetery Address:  1900 E. Main, Danville IL - this will take you to the V. A. Campus Marquee-Sign entrance...

DO NOT TURN INTO THE MAIN V.A. MARQUEE-SIGN ENTRANCE.

Take the 2nd Right past the campus marquee sign (past the Iowa St and Indiana St intersections)...there should be a small sign that says "Service Entrance National Cemetery" - that is where you will turn right.

Take the 1st Left past the water tower.  This takes you into the cemetary.  

There is parking on the right.  You can park there and walk to the internment shelter, or you can drive to the internment shelter and park on the side of the road. 

The cemetery is circular with an outer circular road and an inner circular road. It's a one way road.  If you choose to drive to the internment shelter you will turn RIGHT into the circle...there will be a man directing traffic.

The internment shelter is on the northside of the cemetery.  It's located on the inner circle 3/4 of the way around. 

There will be no burial site ceremony.
