"Happy birthday DJ. Today is the big 50. Wow we are old now! But where you are is so much better. I can't even imagine how beautiful it is there in Heaven. No more heartache. No pain. No getting old. But above all seeing Jesus. Your babies are doing great. Little Brayden is a hot mess, and Haven is such a sweetheart. Blake is so kind and sweet. I wish you could have met them all. I love and miss you so much."

"Well it won't be long and your birthday will be here again. 3 years. So hard to believe you have been gone that long. It isn't right. You weren't suppose to go before me. You are my little brother. I miss you so much."

"Yesterday was your birthday. Hard to believe you would have been 49 years old.  Dang little brother we are getting on up there now. And today it is 2 years since you left us.  We all miss you so much. It just isn't the same with out you anymore. I think of you often and I remember all the times we talked. I know now you are at peace with everything and there are no more fears. That is the only thing that really gives me any comfort is knowing you are at peace now. I love you so much. Your sister."

"He loved family time in the last part of his life. He just wanted to be around us. He taught my boys to paint when they knocked over a paint bucket. He played at the beach with us. He rode paddle boats with Heaven. He just wanted to be a family man. And in the end he was."

"He had a smile that could light up any room he entered. I love and miss him so much."
