Danny Mark Smith, 66, of Bessemer, AL passed away January 10, 2024.  Danny grew up in Blountsville, AL.  He was President of the Student Council, quarterback of the football team, and played baseball and basketball for the J. B. Pennington High School Tigers.  He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1979.  Danny was part owner of Southland Pipe for many years.  Danny had many interests including golf, bicycling, playing with his dogs, traveling, going to the lake, playing guitar, and getting together with his friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his wife Diane, parents John and Bernice Smith, brothers Manuel and Galen Smith, and nephew Rex Copeland.  He is survived by his sister Emilea Copeland, nephew Chad (Kimberley) Smith, nieces Lana (Mike) Sauceman and Renee Martin,  and sister-in-law Jane Moore.

Danny and Diane were faithful members of Riverchase United Methodist Church and will be greatly missed. The family will receive visitors from 10-11 AM on Monday, January 15, with the funeral service at 11 AM, at Riverchase United Methodist Church, 1953 Old Montgomery Hwy. Hoover, AL 35244.
