This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one 
Adedapo (Dapo) Awotoye.

Adedapo (Dapo) Awotoye passed into glory on Tuesday, January 31, 2017,  in the early hours of the morning. Born on July 19, 1963 in Iludun-Oro, Kwara State, Nigeria, to the late Pa Titus and Prophetess Victoria Awotoye, he is the fourth of six children. A gentle and loving soul, Dapo lived a life of gratitude to the very end and saw everyone as connected by divine love - "Ife Oluwa lo so wa po" in yoruba was one of his favorite sayings.

His life and fight of faith remains a testimony to his loving wife of 26 years (Eno Awotoye), his mother (Prophetess Victoria Awotoye), sister (Deaconness Oluyinka Adeyemi), brothers (General Adewale Awotoye and Pastor Abayomi Awotoye), and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, colleagues, family friends and the Nigerian community which he loved and actively participated in.

His deep love for God and fellow souls is reflected by his unrelenting service to all life, inspirational stories and whole hearted infectious laughter. From youth as a scout to adulthood as a high initiate of Eckankar - Religion of the Light and Sound of God, Dapo’s selfless commitment and genuine generosity to others will be forever remembered by those whose lives he touched worldwide and beyond.

Many people remembered Dapo at the CT Regional a couple of weeks ago.
Some remembered his inspiring talks, some his infectious laughter, some his beautiful voice and some his advice. One person remembered that he said love solves all problems and it did for them in the situation they shared with him. Thank you all for sharing these with me.
Dapo would have been 60 today and I miss the opportunity to give him a surprise party. Well, 364 days left, so we'll see. May the Blessings Be!

Rare I must say that I met a couple so much in love and made a meaning of the phrase "LOVE BIRDS". One of the best in-laws I ever met among the Yorubas & Ibibios. May his ever smiling face be resting in Heaven. 
I saw for my 1st experience an intoxicating love between Dapo and his wife Eno. And this to me looked acted but all through my stay in Washington it didn't change and I then knew I can best understand & describe the phrase "LOVE BIRDS" to others who were lost as I was. Your loss to Eno is the same to us your inlaws. May the Angels best you to heaven under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. To Eno all I can say is cherish his past and you will feel him by you until you meet on the Resurrection day. May his soul rest in peace.

Can I really capture the memories of my Inlaw for the short period I got to know him? Dapo was always warm and exuded such vibrations that will make you forget meeting with such a soul. Your last visit to Houston, in company of General Awuotoye stamped an inalienable memory in my mind. Am still going over my collections for those unforgettable pictures I snapped of him while we were shopping at the malls. To me, he lives eternally. Be consoled by the knowledge that no soul dies. He lives on.

I miss you so my good friend Dapo. When I was new in Eckankar I looked up to you as the spiritual giant that you are. I always knew that you walked close and near to the Mahanta. Dapo loved to sing HU.
He loved to share the HU song.
He said it was a gift, and service of love to life.
Four years ago as he made his way out of this life into the God worlds, this love song to God HU was constant companion, keeping us, each focused on our individual spiritual journey to the heart of God. 
Today, with the Mahanta as close as our heartbeat, singing HU - our love song to God, our journeys continue.

January 31, 2017, two years ago today you left this realm of life to continue your experience in the God worlds. 

D you left an immense and unfillable void here. I am consoled however that you are free of the struggles that threatened to dim your bright and shinning light. I know your love for and faith in God keeps you busy still serving life wherever your journey takes you. As souls we are never apart and that is comforting.

Celebrating Dapo's Life

Dapo would have turned 54 years today 7/19/2017! 
Calls would have been pouring in from family and friends world over to greet and celebrate him. We would fill the day with his favorite songs, from the HU sound to selections from his classical and African playlists and he'll break into a dance from time to time, telling funny stories to make us laugh.
