His Life
October 28, 2013

Darrell was born in California and the youngest of 5. His family moved to Arkansas when he was very young. He was quite the trouble maker growing up, but was able to channel his energy in bettering his family. He married when he was 18, and was married for 23 years. He had no college education, and didn't receive his GED until he was in his late 20's. Darrell worked hard to give his family the life he thought they deserved.

Darrell had 3 children, Heather, Shayah, & Jesse - and 2 granddaughters, Madeline & Rori, at his time of death.

Darrell had varied interests; Tae Kwon Do, shooting, gun smithing, hunting, motorcycles, hod rods- etc. As a young man, martial arts was the big passion. He made a career out of gun smithing, and as he got older, his motorcycle was the only vacation he needed.

He moved to Texas to persue his gun smithing career in Nov. 2007. Darrell loved Texas, and thought of it as his 2nd home, but Texas didn't have the one thing he wanted most... his family. Upon his failing health, he returned to Arkansas to be with near his family.

Darrell was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer in Oct. 2010. The doctor told him the cancer had been there and growing for nearly a year. He had suffered strokes and blood clots due to the rapidly growing cancer. He had attempted chemo, but his first and only treatment ended him on life support. He was able to pull through, but his health was never the same. He moved back to Arkansas in January 2011, and was moved to Hospice in March.

Throughout his battle with cancer, he still gave God the glory. Never questioning Him or blaming Him. Just remaining faithful, and looking forward to seeing him. Although, I do believe it was sooner than he expected.

Darrell had an electric personality, and was always there to help someone out. He loved his family, and made sure to let them know every chance he had.
His absense has left a void, that no one can fill.
