I remember the time that he and grandma took me and my sister on a road trip from Texas to California. I will never forget the sites we saw like bryce canyon, white sand dunes and caves. I will also never forget the laughs we shared as we were being chased by storms and trying new foods. He will forever be missed :)

Where do you start when you lose a parent?  My dad would say "life's not fair" if we started complaining.  Dementia is not fair.  Everytime you see someone you are saying goodbye, a little piece each time.  It is in our memories they will live on.  My dad gave us so many great memories. I will miss my dad's competitive side and sense of adventure.  When playing games he wouldn't play easy, but it made us better players.  He loved traveling and always had a camera. He loved sharing stories about his adventures.  My dad had a work-hard/play-hard mindset.  It reminds us to strive for these adventures, to share them with the ones you love, and to live life to the fullest.  My dad was always ready to travel.  His final words were "I am ready to go."  While he set off on his final adventure his "wings were ready, but our hearts were not."

David was always so helpful and gracious.  I will always remember his smile and the experiences he shared. Always could see his love for his wife and family. I remember his love for photography and cherish the pictures he took of the girls. Am thankful to have known him and for all the help he provided. May he live on through his family and all his memories cherished.

I want to thank all of our friends and family for the outpouring of love and sympathy for the loss of our David. The thoughts you have shared meant a lot to me and the family. His memories are alive in our hearts. I will carry them with me always. He gave us a multitude of experiences. Most of all, he gave me the three most amazing children who will carry on his legacy. Their strength these past few weeks is the best sign I could have that David is still here with us in spirit. As heartbroken as I am today, I am equally grateful. Even in these last few months of darkness and the saddest moment of his passing, I know how lucky I have been to have experienced his love of life and living it to the fullest. I am grateful for every minute we had. As I put the love of my life at rest, it was only his body. His spirit and his soul are still with us. It lives on in the stories and condolences that have been shared by those whom David has touched their lives and in the love that is visible in the eyes of our family and friends. Things will never be the same, but the world is better for the years my beloved husband lived. I will miss him dearly.
