His Life

David Alan Hess, 25, of Fort Campbell, Ky., died in Afghanistan while proudly serving his country with the 101st Airborne. He was born April 28, 1985 in Charleston, W.Va., a son of Kathy Dowler of Cisco, W.Va. and Jeff Hess of Ruskin, Fla. David was a graduate of Parkersburg South High School with the class of 2003. He wrestled and played football for Mineral Wells, Edison and South. He loved hunting, fishing, serving his country, hanging out with friends and spending time with his son, Bryor. In addition to his parents, he is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Diane Kalle Hess and his son, Bryor Alan Hess, of Fort Campbell, Ky.; his sister, Christie Hess and nephew, Chad, and his sister, Sarah Hess and nephew, Alex, all of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; paternal grandfather, Bob Cranfield of Palmetto, Fla.; paternal grandmother, Hallie Ocheltree of Ripley, W.Va.; maternal grandmother, Leola Hess of Sandyville, W.Va.; mother and father-in-law, Bob and Bernadette Kalle of Riverview, Fla.; brother-in-law, Christopher Kalle of Tampa, Fla.; sister-in-law, Jennifer Kalle of Tampa, Fla.; aunts and uncles, Doug and Brenda Hess of Sandyville, Scott Hess of Sandyville, Bob and Althea of Ripley, Eddie and Tanya Cranfield of Ripley, Bobby and Tammy Cranfield of Ripley, Boyd and Doreen Cranfield of Ripley, Anna and Robbie Wherry of Ravenswood, W.Va., Amanda and Roy Steele of Ripley, and Frankie and Michelle Cranfield of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Bryor's Godparent's, Jennifer Kalle and Jonathan Vick; special people in his life, Dad Mike and Mom Annetta Lambert of Marietta, Ohio; step-mom, Robin Driggers of Ruskin, FL; and many cousins, friends, step-aunts and uncles, and our hero's from 101st Airborne and those serving our country.
