Carl and I have enjoyed the most precious relationship with David and the Vu family for 18yrs as neighbors on Sparrow Way Ct. He shared in some very special memories and captured pictures and videos that we will cherish for many generations!
My Mother who just turned 95 on May 3rd, he videotaped her preparing Thanksgiving one year with all the trimmings, was CJ’s and Cortiss wedding photographer in Jan 2015 and on May 16th, 2015, he captured my 60th Birthday celebration! Our last family photos he made was Dec 2017, and we’ve shared those memories with you!
The impact David had beyond this was he creative Firework shows for 4th of July and his awesome Micheal Jackson “Thriller Halloween” music and videos!
Always my family will cherish the great moments and days we shared with our Brother!! Christine you, Shawn and Axel will continue to be in our prayers!!!!

I met David thru the spring branch page. I had seen that he posted something about some worms he bought, I messaged him and we started talking about them because I have a gecko who eats these worms. I showed him how to create a colony, what to feed them ect. He would tell me to take care of myself, my health. He was so loving and caring. He will be missed by many Rest in Paradise..

I have only met David recently compared to most of you, but he had a way of making me feel as if I’ve known him forever, comfortable. He was always very candid about his life, and was at peace with many things that of happened to him throughout it. I think that he would be at peace with what has happened to him now, and would want us all to carry-on where are wonderful lives. He was that kind of person. He wanted everybody to be happy and smile and have a good time. He was the most giving person I have ever known. He gave without any notion of receiving. He helped me a lot with my photographs from my Pilates studio. He was great at everything that he did, whether it was photography or video or music. He will definitely be missed. It breaks my heart to have such a wonderful person leave this planet without me getting to say goodbye and I love you. I pray in my heart that he can hear me from above and know that I appreciate everything that he did for me and of course the community.

For some reason I don’t understand why it’s so hard for me to write this for David. Maybe because I haven’t fully accept it yet, maybe because I don’t want to, or it’s hard to see someone who my family and I thought of more than a friend is gone to soon……

David was more than a friend in our family eyes. From the time we met him till his calling home he was always the one to be there, help, share his happiness with everyone, knew how to light up the room and bring the funk! However most importantly knew how to judge a good cake.

I’ll never forget the moments David shared with our children inside and outside the post and how they all called him Uncle David. As well as anytime our oldest daughter wanted to sing he allowed her and pumped up the crowd. He knew what songs she would jam out to and be ready to conquer with him right there. Sj on the other hand loved cake and food as well like David so you can imagine they were bonding over food and cakes (lol). Adelina was the shy one but David help her get I shy by carrying her everywhere like a princess and helping her expand her potential. Now with Samuel this was more special; he helped with the photo shoot, help go live and keep people on their toes, and even did it without payment but we still paid and fed him. Yet no one knew how special this simple photo shoot meant to us, let alone how much it meant to me…..(trying to hold back tears so I can see and finish this) this photo shoot was the one revealing us having a son after the one I had previous passed. So not knowing exactly how he would help have this come together he made magic happen yet again. It hurts me more so because he didn’t get to have the chance to meet our youngest due to covid. I do know he is there with our son smiling, teaching him how to be an amazing man , showing him great music, the best foods, cakes and most importantly how to be a superhero like Uncle David!

You may feel lost and alone, but God knows exactly where you are, and He has a good plan for your life.
(Even though we still don’t understand why you had to go home so soon, god knew )

Fly high
We love you David

David was a very selfless person. He wanted to spread his message of joy and peace and he did that. I didn't choose him to be my friend. He chose me to be his brother and for that I am forever grateful.
I will always love and treasure our crazy times together.

His Life

Remembering David

David Anh Vu will be forever in our hearts.

Born in Saigon, Vietnam on September 9, 1973, he was son of Diem Vu (Father) and Thuy Nguyen (Mother).  David grew up in Spring Branch and graduated from Northbrook High School in 1992.  He then went on to study at the University of Houston – Downtown and began his career in IT.

David had an infectious smile that emits a genuine and caring soul. Food, Photography and Music. He managed to find a way to incorporate all that in to his life—sometimes all at once. But his love for art and appreciation of the natural beauty in the simple creations of the world made photography a perfect choice for a hobby.

What started off as a hobby, turned into a passion and he decided to pursue his dreams of having his own business. Any many knew his motto Today Your Friend, Tomorrow Your Photographer. Through his great network of friends, he began doing weddings, birthdays, sporting events and later got in to DJ’ing.

David had a heart of gold and he believed in giving back to the community. He devoted his time and energy volunteering his photography services to fundraisers, charity events, supporting new businesses, children’s hospitals and local veterans. I know these are just a few of his projects and love hearing about them shared through his network.

He truly saw the world through a different set of lenses and I think he managed to change all of our mindset on what a McRib truly represents.

While David never married, he lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count. A true extended family as it is apparent that he left an imprint on the hearts of those he crossed paths with.

Survivors include sister, Christina; brother-in-law, Sean; nephew, Axel; his dearest cousins, Aiden, Daniel, and Cecilia  ----and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

David Anh Vu, you will be forever in our hearts.

May you rest in peace and that you are happily together with Dad and Mom on the other side.

We love you.

Head shots

September 9, 2021
My son needed a headshot the other day. Actually I should say his head shot from a photo session David did with Vincent, my son and myself. I have my own business and he was always helping me with pictures and he was never wanting anything in return. He did a lot for me and my business, including giving me more self-esteem by practicing mine photos for my company allowing me different opportunities to do it better. David was so giving and I’m really glad that we got to know him my whole family really take a liking to him despite only have known him for just a little while. I was actually just thinking the other day that I wanted to post something on Facebook and it here we are celebrating his birthday. I will always keep David’s memory alive.

When my Father passed away I reached out to hire David to help me film the funeral for my family in DR. David without hesitation said he would do it for no charge or little charge. I had no idea he was in pain or not feeling well when he came but he was! He pushed through the pain and stayed for 3 hours. Would not accept a dime. We had to sneak the money into his back pack. We all will miss his kind smile, words and energy. Say Hi to my Dad for me!
