1970 Baseball Season - David was selected to play  on the Richmond Steelworkers Baseball Team for eleven game season!
On one special game, Mom was busy, so I atnd in the 3d inning, and saw David stroll up to the plate, dressed in his glstening clean white jersey, showing his bold blue color # 1 in the sunlight.  He got to the plate, tapping his bat on the plate, and stood tall, waiting for the pitch, Shaking might be a better word, after all David was not yet 7, and facing a unknown baseball thrower, is concerned for all.
Taking the next pitch that reached David homeplate area, David reached &
swung that bat around, slapping the ball in the middle of the plate, and arching that little white ball some 85 feet between 2 nd base and CenterFiielder.  David ran, reaching lst Base, while his coach continued saying, "Go Go, rounding 2nd Base, everyone was hollaring Go Go, he  continued to run, not looking - just running, easily picking his feet and and laying them down.  Another loud Coach, bellowing GO HOME, as David rounded 3d Base, heading to Home Plate, everyhone seemed to forget about the incoming baseball, however David touched Home=plate, and some 21 adults in the Steelworkers section all cheered and surrounded David all dressed with a BRIGHT BLUE "S" in  THEIR bright white color CAPS, centered on their smiling faces and uncomb hair, each player hugging, and doing something the Coaches called "Give Me Five"

My 3d Born Son DAVID CRAIG GARCIA

September 3, 2012

David & I made an appointment to meet w/each other on 2 Sept 2003, when I drove to his apartment to meet w/David at 2:30pm, Unknown to me,  David had left, as he was called up to Heaven to sit-at-the-Right-Hand-Side of GOD himself.  Our Lord needed a sturdy youthful good-looking blue-eyed Spanish individual to assist St Peter, in how to accept new travels into the Kingdom of Heaven.
In leaving, David thur some unknown intellectually, in thought, reminded me of:
Dad, Don't grieve for me, for now I am free,  I'm following the path that all Catholics follow, which God has laid for me, don't you see? My pain took away, my laugh, my love, my work, and my play. I see the peace that God offers, and I agreed to this trip. Please remember my parting with joy, friendship to all, a laugh we had!
A Kiss from my beatiful Mother, (Marlys Ann) oh yes, I too will miss! I do wish you all,  the SUNSHINE OF TOMORROW, MY life has been fun, full of Good times, yes it ended too soon, Please lift up your hearts to me and PEACE, to thee, God asked me to SIT-ON-HIS-RIGHT-SIDE,to assist ST PETER, in how to accept fellow travelers, Just like you taught me "How to receive all those seventy-nine (79) Vietnam Refugees who fled Vietnam" so I could place them in the safety of my United States of America, during 1975 at Hamilton Air Force Base, California, our home station, as Mother was working as a Teacher at the Air Force Children's School, and you Dad, were a member of our US Army!

Our 3d Son David Craig:
Hello David -This is your Father, I'm just writing to tell you that we remaining immediate family members, Maura Lia, Scott, Steve and I will continue to love all the pleasant memories, you gave us from Dec 64 - Sep 03, until the day, you received your call from Our Lord, himself, you  see, David, God needed a strong-willed young 39 yr old to sit on his Right Side to impress the entire World, that you were his  Number 1 choice to assist him in seeking athletic young men, with both Coaching Skills, and Play-Ball-Experience to establish a Heavenly 9, and instead of seeking
Billy Martin, God selected you.
Never forget your own baseball talents, starting at age 5 - 7, weighting in at 52 lbs and standing in at 4 feet,  given to you from your continuos playing catching, running, swinging the bat on the bright green grass at BELDING, in ole Richmond, CA.  You learned by doing baseball with Steve, Scott, myself and your buddy Rickie.  Yes, even Rickie left our Earth, and probably is a scout somewhere, looking for Heavenly new ballplayers - You, Steve,Scott, Rickie, even his Sister, who took you 4 youthful baseball hopefuls, on the city bus, from 1809 Lincoln Ave, all the way to the Oakland Collisum, to see your favorite Oakland A's, with players such ole Reggie Jackson, Joe Rudi, Sal Bando, even Coach Joltin Joe DiMaggio, during 1969, your 6th year.
Even old Mrs Santos gave you the only AWARD during Jun 1970 for Handwriting skills you demonsrated in the lst Grade!
David, I still cherish your First Father's Day Homemade Card to me, dated1970, saying     "HEY DAD,YOU ARE A DAD OF A DAD,THAT HAS A SON NAMED DAVID, WHO SAYS, "GOOD BOY DAD" AND DAVID IS A GOOD BOY
OK DAD "      DO YOU REMEMBER PRINTING THAT TO ME, WHICH I STILL READ AND CHERISH YOUR MEMBORABLE THOUGTHS TO ME!
