Dave's Life

January 16, 2012

Dave was born in San Jose, CA. As he grew up, he was active in running track and field and liked to box. He was also involved in motorcycle racing and often participated in races at Lake Elsinore. He also did a race from Barstow to Las Vegas.

After serving in the Air Force, he became a machinist in the automobile industry with a specialty in auto body work. After a period of time, he decided to change careers and went into carpentry, becoming a master carpenter.

In 1963 he married Arlene, who blessed him with his first child, Kim, who mothered his first two grandchildren. In 1970 Dave married Carol with whom he had two daughters, Christy and Carly. Collectively, Dave has 13 grandchildren. and 6 great grandchildren.

In 1982 Dave met Donna. On their first date, Dave took Donna “sailing,” which actually meant cleaning the boat. They were married in 1988.   Together Dave and Donna cruised the California coast on their 24' Yankee Dolphin.  A later cruise took them to Mexico, where they port hopped all the way to the Bay of Tehuantepec in Southern Mexico.

Dave had a love of the ocean, and all water sports. He enjoyed water skiing, kayaking, and surfing. He had a passion for sailing and traveling as well. He was also an avid car enthusiast starting at the age of 14. He recently helped in finishing a car for a competition car show. The car took first place at the Labor Day Cruise In Car Show in Costa Mesa, and a second place in the National Roadster Show in Pomona.

Above all else, Dave enjoyed spending time with his family.
