Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. MATTHEW 5:4
My deepest sympathy for Heather and the entire family during this difficult time. David was a remarkable man with so much knowledge and wisdom but taken away from us way too soon. There are so many things that I wanted to share with Heather and David together on my next visit to Jamaica but will instead keep all our memories together over the years close to my heart forever! David will be shining down on us now and guiding us through the word of God each and every day

Writing this tribute on behalf of Bishop V Watson:
It is with great sadness that i pen this tribute regarding my friend, David D Dsnnisur. His departure left such a void in my life, having travelled on the highway of life for over 30 years. His exit is a reminder of our own mortality that should be well noted.

David came into our lives over 30 years ago. He would come to the USA to my home ever year & I would go to his as well in Jamaica. If I needed anything in Jamaica, David was always there to make sure that I had it.

David was thd center of the youth camp that i attended every year. The youth loved him & we want to remember the impact that was left on the lives of the young people.

He was also very patriotic. I recalled passing by montego bay hospital & voicing my opinion that it needed painting & of course I had to pick up my nose from where it was snatched off, because he felt that his country was well & needed nothing.

David was a strong defender of family. So, when he adopted his little daughter Kezia and he would bring her yo my home every year ever dince she was a baby until I had to ban her from coming because she would spilled red juice on my walls..so he said if she could not come, then he would not come. So, you know who won, for he was a very strong family man.

Well now this season of his life is over but we will all remember David for the beautiful family man that he was.

It is difficult to speak of David in the past tense; so, I will instead leave these w:ords with everyone:
ECCLESIASTES 3:1-4 (KJV)

Well, it is a time to weep and a time to mourn the loss of someone special.
I pray that the activity of his life was spent accomplishing the purpose of GOD and I pray that in the end, he will hear the words "WELL DONE"!!

My Student, my friend. my confidant. Words are inadequate to describe my loss.  David was a unique individual. In all my encounters with him, he has distinguished himself as a decent human being. David was a member of Jamaica Combined Cadet Force as a Sargeant at the platoon located at Frome High School. He showed himself as a leader extraordinaire. He was truthful, never ever told a lie, but face the consequences of his actions. He was trustworthy, I could leave anything in his care and it would be protected; he was honest with a sterling character. Later in life, we became good friends. He and his wife and myself and wife spent quality time together. His house was my home in Jamaica and visa versa when he came to the USA. The world has left one of its best treasures. His humanitarian and benevolent efforts are legendary. God bless you, my brother, rest well until in the morning.
Your accomplishment will live forever. Bishop Charles and Lady Gloria Mullings and the saints at Untied Church IAM, Miami, Florida.

You will be missed Mr. D, I know that your retirement in heaven will be way better than it could ever be down here. Syon will have to dedicate that boat to you instead of buying it for you. Walk well Sir D you are forever in our hearts.

David, From the time we got to know you, we have known you to be someone who is caring, upright and steadfast with a good sense of appropriateness.
We remembered during your wedding, some of us were panicking about some aspects of the arrangements, but with a smile, confident and reassuring approach, you calmed the situation and put everybody at ease.
We miss your smile and miss hearing the praises and adorations you always showered on Heather.
You have gone too soon and you will be sorely missed. May you rest in perfect peace.

A meaningful life is not being rich, highly educated. It's about kind, humble, touching the lives of others in a positive way. That was DAVID. I met David fifty plus years ago, we all were teenagers. He was such jovial happy individual, extremely outgoing person. Never a dull moment in his presence. It has been a shock to Tony and I, but what gives us comfort is good times we all shared on "compound" in Frome. RIP my friend. My deepest sympathy to the family.

My deepest condolences to Heather and the Dennisur's family.
Death was never apart of God's plan and because of this, the passing of David has left a void within the family. Hold on to the precious and fond memories of him .
David has ran his race, and the Savanna-La-Mar CIBCFirstcaribbean branch salutes him and will remember his winsome smile and dedicated service.
Sleep on David and take your rest.

Dear Heather and family, David has finished his work on earth, and left the stage in a manner that leaves those of us left behind with a cry of agony in our hearts as the fragile thread of our faith is dealt a blow by this invisible enemy.

Is anyone strong enough to stay conscious through such teachings as you are receiving? Probably a few. And even they would only have a whisper of equanimity and peace amidst the screaming trumpets of their rage, grief, horror and desolation.

I can't assuage your pain with any words, nor should I. For your pain is David's legacy to you. Not that he would inflict such pain by choice but there it is. And it must burn its purifying way to completion. For something in you dies when you bear the unbearable, and it is only in the dark night of the soul that you are prepared to see as God sees and to love as God loves.

Now it is time to let your grief find expression. No false strength. Now is the time to sit quietly and speak to David and thank him for being with you these years and encourage him to go on with whatever his work is, knowing that you will grow in compassion and wisdom from this experience. In my heart, I know that you and David will meet again, and recognize the many ways in which you known each other. And when you meet you will know, in a flash, but no it is not given to you to know why this had to be the way it was.

Our rational minds can never understand what happened, but our hearts if we can keep them open to God will find their own intuitive way. David came to do his work on Earth which includes his manner of death. Now his soul is free, and the love that you can share with him is invulnerable to The winds of changing time and space. In that deep love Heather please include me.

Mr. David Dennisur was a man who stood tall among men. He will be greatly missed and his contribution to the Parish of Westmoreland and in particular to the Lay Magistrates' Association will be long remembered. He gave of himself to assist in the delivery of justice through the Office of the Justice of the Peace for the parish of Westmoreland and served for many years at the Whithorn Petty Sessions Court and was the President of the Westmoreland Lay Magistrates Association for over 5 years.
It was sterling service that he rendered to his parishioners and we are all grateful to God for lending this gentleman to us. We have benefited from his gentleness, fairness and his kindness.
I met Mr. Dennisur when I served as the Senior Parish Judge for Westmoreland and the few interactions I had with him I formed the view that he was a humble and patient man. He was not easily offended. He was pleasant and was always smiling. That was the impression that remained with me of this gentleman. I have heard the office staff speak in very complimentary terms of his character.
As his lovely wife, children, grandchildren and other relatives grieve for his departure I pray that God will be their comfort and that they will bond together in love, being the strength for each other as they ride out this storm.
On behalf of the Westmoreland Parish Court I take this opportunity to say thank you to his family for lending him to the Courts of Jamaica to assist in the administration of justice in our island. May his soul rest in peace.

I met Brother David 25 years ago when we served on Royale Medical Board .
He was always confident and passionate in what he believed in. We later became members of Savanna-la-Mar United Church and served on the elders board up to the time of his death. He was fearless, never afraid to share his opinion on any matter .
You will be missed Brother David but at the same time you have left behind a legacy for us . You have shared your passion , confidence, resilience and of course your humor. RIP my brother. My deepest sympathies to Sister Heather and the rest of the family. “

His Life

The Life of David Diago Dennisur BH(M), J. P.

May 12, 2021
Every family has a HERO! That one family member who is the life of the party, who you look forward to seeing because you know that you are going to get a belly full of laughter or you are going to be engaged in a thought provoking discussion! That SUPER SUPPORT who will attend every wedding, graduations , funerals  and any other special event...... In the DENNISUR Clan “ Uncle David/ big brother” was that HERO and though he was well known in Frome, Savanna-La- Mar, Westmoreland and even Jamaica.....to his family he was simply the cheerleader! Uncle David was the one to walk his sisters and nieces down the aisles, he stepped in and cared for his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties, and uncles....

Born on May 5th 1952 to the late Remessee and Eunice Dennisur in Ricketts River, Frome Westmoreland, David the 3rd of 12 children. Everyone who knows him and all is siblings will profess that David was a “ Mama’s Boy”
every Sunday after church he would journey to Ricketts River, the family home just to lie in his mama’s bed and eat mama’s cooking. All the siblings emphasized that David’s favorite saying , not as a child growing up but even in his adult years, “ Mi a guh tell Mama!”

David’s early academic preparation began at Ms.Mack Basic School in Hunterswood, then Grange Hill Primary School and Frome School now called Frome Technical High School.  There is a popular saying in Jamaica parlance “ Jack of all Trade- Master of None” David defied that saying, he was a Jack ... David of all trades and he mastered them all...
Cub Scout
Social Worker
Accountant
Financial Controller
Manager
Farmer
Lay Preacher
Elder

David worked at the West Indies Sugar Company and gained a scholarship to attend The College of Arts Science & Technology (CAST). David also worked at the following companies:
Monymusk and Dunckenfield Sugar Companies
Head Office of National Sugar
Westmoreland Cooperative Credit Union - Savanna-La-Mar
Eagle Permanent Building Society - Savanna-La-Mar Branch
National Development Foundation of Jamaica - Montego Bay
Manager of the RBTT Bank - Mandeville Branch
Opened and Managed the Savanna -La-Mar Branch of CIBC First Caribbean Bank until his retirement.
Since November 2020 he managed the Indian Jerk & Curry Restaurant and Lounge, Petersfield, Westmoreland.

David was a devout man of God who explored the Catholic, Jehovah Witness, Pentecostal and Presbyterian faiths. He was the Elder at the Savanna- La- Mar United Church and sometimes preached at different points of the United Church. He was passionate about God’s words and was very often argumentative and demonstrative about what the “scriptures declares”.
Another passion was his love for politics to the point where he did not want to wear or use anything green in color yet he managed to maintain good friendships on both sides of the political arena.

David loved his family - he assumed the role of being in charge and often caused Rosie and others to get the strap. Every niece, every nephew will tell that their favorite memory is going to Westmoreland and Uncle David packing up everyone in his truckand they travel to Bluefields Beach and upon their return journey stop at KFC.... smiles. David loved people and his greatest delight was being among children.
Though he struggled with the loss of daughter Davita at 2 years old in a major car accident in 1981 , his adopted daughter Kezia filled his life with love and joy was made full when his grandson Khaleel was born.

David threw himself and his attention to Cub Scouts and later became the District Commissioner for Scouts, served on the School Boards of Frome Technical High School, Mannings School, Savanna-La-Mar Primary and Elite Preparatory. He also served on the Westmoreland Parish Development Committee, the Board of the Jamaica Library Service in Westmoreland, as Chairman of the HEART Management Advisory Committee and President of the Lay Magistrate’s Association, Westmoreland.

David received the Badge of Honor for meritorious service to the Community from the Governor General of Jamaica. The happiest period of his life was when he bravely went down on one knee in a 500 packed dining room on a cruise ship and proposed to Heather- although Heather took some time to answer - she said yes and in May 12, 2012 they were married in England and spent their honeymoon in Paris. In Heather’s own words “ We lived, argued, laughed and loved”.

Covid-19 came in March 2020, and sadly David caught the virus in March 2021, if ever the outpour of love and support could have save someone, David would be alive today. We prayed earnestly and diligently but God had another plan and after 2 weeks in the Savanna-La-Mar Public General Hospital David, a true solder of the Cross, a warrior in this life, transitioned at 9:00 pm on March 28,2021.

David Diago Dennisur is gone to be with is father Remessee, mother Eunice, and brothers Samuel(Sam) and Lynford (DanDan)who predeceased him. He leaves behind his loving wife Heather, stepsons Michael and Christopher, daughter Kezia, grandson Khaleel. Brothers Kenroy, Conray and Worrell. Sisters Margaret(Madgie), Rose, Juliet, Eva, Sharmaine (Hopi) and Juddian. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A void that can never be filled... what a loss not only for our family but for the community....Rest well our SUPERMAN,HERO and SUPPORTER! You have done well...your legacy and memory lives on!

We love you and miss you dearly Uncle DDD❤️

Never too busy ❤

April 29, 2021
As an adult I now know how hectic and demanding life is on a daily basis. Because of this I now understand  how special Uncle David was as a person and how much he loved us as nieces and nephews.
I remember going into the bank Uncle David managed when I was a child and how I'd do my transaction with the teller and when I was through I'd always ask to speak to Mr. Dennisur. The teller would walk into his office and then return to tell me he was available to see me. I thought nothing of it then because he was Uncle David,  but now I know that spoke volumes. So there I was a 9 year old sitting in his office talking about what was happening in my life (imagine what that conversation was like ).
I now understand that even though he would have been busy, on those many occasions when I stopped by for my impromptu visits, the fact that he was never too busy for "that little girl" carved out a big space in my heart for my uncle and nothing not even death can take the love I have for him.
He watched me grow and as I got older he became more than my uncle, he became my friend. He encouraged and supported  me through my rough patches, he celebrated my accomplishments no matter how small and he always took the time to tell me how proud he was of the woman I've become. It always felt good to hear . Thank you Sir.
I wasn't ready... but I am grateful to have had you in my life. Forever love Uncle David ❤
