His Life

My Hero My Dad!

April 24, 2016

David was born to Paul E. & Lois L. Foote on May 4th, 1955. He has a brother Paul (Christine) 2 sisters, Donna Rae (Clayton) Rhodes & Diana.

David is survived by his wife Donna & children, Richard (Michelle) Foote, daughter Tina (Darlene) Foote & David Foote Jr. (Nicole Durr). His grandchildren, Ricky, Kyla, Laura, Sabrina, Nathan, Tyler, Nevaeh, Bryson, Mason & Samuel, his mother, brother & 2 sisters & many more, including his great friends from Kentucky which became family (The Puckets).

David was a country man through & through. From his cowboy hat, his boots & the country music that fed his soul. He loved to hit the dance floor with my mother Donna & myself 2 stepping, waltz, & line dancing with us & David Jr as well as many friends. David had a love for his horses, later in life he found a new love for his mules. His favorite horse was Casper & his mule Jake.

David was the hardest working man I knew. He would work from sun up to sun down. He did whatever he had to do to provide for his family. Whether that be long hauls over the road, out of town removing asbestos, construction & lastly owning & operating his own dump trucking business along side my brother David Jr.

My dad was a free spirit. He lived everyday to the fullest & sometimes that wasn't enough. He always was a busy man who couldn't sit still & had to be on the go. Whether it be fiddling with projects, working, trail riding, camping, fishing, going to the rodeo's, working on the dump trucks & equipment & good old family time. He enjoyed his family more than anything & his grandkids brought a light to his eyes.

My dad always instilled in us kids to never accept the word no! If you want it, go for it! He was very supportive of us all in whatever paths we have chosen. Don't get me wrong if we fouled up, we were held accountable to the fullest.

In 2013, David was diagnosed with Mesothelioma Cancer. He fought as hard as one could fight. He put his best effort possible forward.

Unfortunately,  on his daughter's birthday, he took his last breath and was called home as he was surrounded by his family.

No matter where life leads us, he is always with us side by side & in our hearts. An impact a father has on his kids is something one should never take for granted.

To my father, I love you for the man you worked so hard to be, no matter what sacrifices you have made, you always put family first & foremost. Life was granted to you for a short time here with us, but in that time you have made the biggest impact on you're family.

You were a fighter to the end! Now you're dancing freely in the Heavens above.
