Bubba you left us a year ago today and we have missed you.  You once said to me when you took your life no one would much miss you except me and you hated to hurt me but you wanted to go.  You were wrong about that. There are a lot of us who miss you and are sorry you are gone.  Even the ones who could no longer have you in their lives.  I understand some things i didn't realize until now.  It was not my journey, it was yours and I was only a part of that.  I love you and I know you love me.  Now that you are on the other side of the veil I can feel you finding peace..  I love you as always.

Happy Birthday Bubba. I know its the most peaceful you have had in a long time. I miss you. I think of you everyday. Grief lasts sometimes awhile but at least I can breath without the weight of it on my chest.  With all the ups and downs I am glad you were in my life so long.  I love you.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

His Life

David's

February 13, 2021
David worked all of his life, starting out as a dishwasher at the Hickory House in Pulaski when he was 15.  He had several factory jobs after that.  In the nineties he relocated to Nashville and began working with a pest control company after receiving certification to administer chemicals under a licensed operator.  He also doubled as a salesman, selling mainly termite contracts and was recognized for several years as the salesman with the highest sales for that year.  He was self taught, challenging and passing the licensed applicator exam, something only a small percentage of licensed applicators were able to do. .   He then started his own business, Duncan's Termite and Pest Control.  He served a wide area in Nashville, Franklin and most of West Tennessee.  He had to cut his work back over the last several years as rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes progressed.  At the time of his death he was only keeping about 35% of his clients.  His clients respected and liked him.  He was honest and had strong work ethics and was rewarded for many years with a successful small business.

David loved to fish and spent much time on the creek banks when he was young.  He collected coins and pocket knives.   He liked to eat and loved a good steak.  He could cook a fantastic steak on the grill and on a stove. He liked Northern Beans.  He cooked excellent cornbread.   He liked to go out to eat, particularly in Mexican Restaurants.   He was funny and loved to play tricks on people.  He liked to watch DVDs and had several favorite ones; The Patriot.  The Stand.   He liked old Andy Griffith Episodes.  He was an avid Trump Supporter.

David was generous.  He loved his family.  He loved his children and grandchildren.    He made sure those he loved had what they wanted or needed when he could.  He is loved.  He is missed.
