A Life Well Lived

David (Dave) Thomas Fleck, passed away on April 24, 2022, in Clermont, FL, the day before his 74th birthday with his wife, Terri, and daughter, China, by his side.He was a cherished and beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, admired for his mental strength and positive attitude during his struggles with ALS. Terri devoted her entire soul and heart to caring for David when the disease took over his body.

A resident of Clermont, FL, he was born and raised in Miami and graduated Miami Dade College.David was proud of being a member of the first graduating class of Coral Park High School in Miami, Class of 1966. He also spent several happy summers during his late teens working at restaurants on Cape Cod, MA.David and Terri loved to travel; they went to England many times and boated the canals. They also visited Africa and Cuba, as well as other countries.

David was a retired businessman and real estate broker in Orlando and Ormond Beach.He loved music and the ocean, playing golf, and practicing yoga.He loved history, the arts and genealogy.Despite his disease, David maintained his tremendous sense of humor and his yearning to learn and keep current and engaged in events of the day. He had a smile that lit up the room; it will be his spirit and love for his family that will keep him in our hearts forever.

Along with his wife, Terri (Santiago), David is survived by his daughter, China (Shane) Ray, and his granddaughter, Cielle, who brought him immeasurable joy and pleasure, his daughter Lillian (Lilly) Hines, and daughter, Melody Jones.

Other survivors are his brother, Ed (Milly) Fleck, sisters Phyllis (Dan) LaChance and Adele (Jim) Lane, as well as nieces Susan (Steve) Gill, Amy (Dan) Fontaine, Holly Hancock, Samantha (Brent) Benning and nephew, Eddie (Lindy) Fleck. His surviving sister-in-laws are Jeri-Ann Andrews, Eileen Barker, and Greta Von Urch as well as stepdaughters, Erica Santiago and Lisa Santiago and step-grandchildren Victor and Ava Guerrero.David was predeceased by is parents, Eugene (Gene) and Mildred (Millie) Fleck, and his sister, Patricia (Little Patty) Fleck.

A Celebration of David's Life took place on May 15, 2022. Charitable Donations in his name can be made to Team Gleason Foundation Donate -Team Gleason.
