Miss you David! I cannot believe it has been a year , since you have passed. Love you, cherishing happy memories
Due to the current pandemic, this site will be a living memorial to which all can add comments, pictures and videos. David donated his body to Gift of Hope.
David James Bryan of Naperville, IL, beloved husband, father and brother, passed away on August 21, 2020 due to complications from high blood pressure.
David was born in Rochester, NY on May 19, 1960. He graduated from Fairport High School and continued on to receive a BS dual major in Forestry/Wood Engineering from Syracuse University.
David was married to Karen Lassiter on February 13, 1999; they were married 21 years.
His career as an international benefits consultant for several major insurance companies spanned more than 36 years; he was most recently employed with Digital Benefits. David loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit 56 countries.
Dave loved classic cars, Cubs baseball, and collecting things, especially dogs. Stella, Hurley, Winston and Phoebe miss him very much.
David is survived by his wife Karen, sons Quinn and Burke, daughter Hailey, sisters Maureen, Anne and Peggy, and brother Charles. He also leaves behind cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends and colleagues.
He is preceded in death by his father Charles and his mother Fern.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The Epilepsy Foundation.

To Charles and David’s family. I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I went to school with Dave and Charlie was friends with my brother Bob Amberger. Dave was such a nice guy and have fond memories of him. Charlie, it’s so hard to lose a brother. I’m keeping all of you in my prayers.

Karen, Quinn, Hailey, and Burke, I am heartbroken to read of Dave’s psssing last year. He and I were room mates freshman year at ESF, and we formed a friendship that I will always hold dear to my heart.We shared a similar sense of humor,(he had a unique “flare” with flatulence) , love for music and sense of family. He invited me to his home in Rochester that year, where I got to meet his entire family. Over the years after college, we kept in touch usually around the holidays, and we would catch up on how each of our families were doing. He spoke about his kids with a father’s pride, each of them having a special talent, intellect and personality. He always joked that they were smarter than “their old man”, and he meant it. Throughout his health battles, he always kept that Irish humor. I hope he can finally Rest In Peace. Dave will always bring a smile to my face and fond memories of our time together in college. Karen and family - I am so sorry to hear about Dave's passing. Dave was a dear friend throughout high school and our early college years. A favorite memory was our high school senior trip with friends to Toronto where we saw the sites and went to a Jays baseball game. Surprising to us at the time, none of us could convince our parents to loan us their car for the trip (go figure...) so we took a bus to Canada. As was the norm with Dave, there was lots of laughing and memories. When I rediscovered Dave through Facebook a few years ago many memories from that trip came rushing back and I realized how much can be missed by getting caught up in the day-today grind and not staying in touch with friends.

Will and I are so sorry for your loss. I will miss David . I think of his blue shade puma sneakers and all the Chicago music he played, growing up. I loved hearing him Plsy the French horn . We shared a love of dogs. David, was so kind and caring toward me. He came and spent a week , with Will and I , to help me recover from surgery . David had a great sense of fashion and was always so well dressed! I know he is with our parents now. I will miss you . Love you, you will always be in my heart .

Erin and I are very sorry for your loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Whenever I hear Chicago or Earth Wind and Fire songs, I think of Dave. He would play those records all the time! Dave liked to read Mad magazine and always liked to have his bedroom very cold during the summer. Dave was a good brother and will be greatly missed!

I'm so sorry to hear about Dave's passing. I can only hope that knowing he is in a better place brings some comfort to your loss of your husband and father. I'll always remember his smile. I looked forward to seeing him at Bryan family events - him being a "big kid," he would always play with me and my video games or with my transformer toys. I first learned about the French Horn from him, which I took up in middle school.
The last time I saw him, was when I visited Chicago for work, and we met for dinner at the University Club. Even as an adult, he greeted me with his famous "Mr. C" nickname for me.

David and Chuck usually shared a room. But there came a time when the basement was finished and the boys had their own rooms. David decided to Redo his room ...he did one wall in red, silver, and blue flame..almost patent leather,shiny wallpaper. I helped put it up. It was something. And I always wondered how he slept in there.

Karen and Family... I have so many Happy Memories of David taking Ellen out to the Bars in East Rochester when she really shouldn't have been out, so she could enjoy her life, and she would come home happy and laughing... He had a way of making people to feel special.. He was a very good man. He loved his leaf tattoo!!! Ellen and I used to make fun of the fact that he wouldn't wear socks !!! He was a one of her best friends and cared so much for so many... Life is difficult sometimes....Godspeed David ❣️....

Karen and David’s wedding was a beautiful affair at a Chicago boutique hotel. However besides our brother Charlie singing New York, New York, the only other moment I clearly remember was David taking the mike and reciting a lovely poem to Karen...something about gazelles leaping....only David could pull that off.
