David, Remembering your zest for life and warm spirit. You are missed.

So today is the memorial and I am still in shock and a loss of words to say. I thought about putting up a poem or sharing a memory and I just haven't been able to write/say anything. Not because I have too little moments, there are several memories, I just don't know where to start on top of just feeling sad. There's no doubt in my mind that he was just an amazing ray of light, a force of light. Look how many people whose lives are touched by his energy. I will miss going to all the different events and just having silly moments. He will be forever cherished. May the force be with you, David.

Tribute to David

David was such (and still is in spirit) a joyful and bright person. Anytime I went to a meetup he would be one of the very first people to greet me and give me a hug. As a very shy person, he made me feel more comfortable being in a crowd of people and I was able to truly enjoying the moment. He was also one of the very first people (sometimes the first one) to wish me a happy birthday on Facebook. Not to mention, he was one of the first to notice my MJ tatt and compliment me. We had a whole convo about our tatts n we felt good that we were one of the first to get that particular tatt in memory of MJ. LoL
I love that he was always fully present when partaking in various MJ events. He always had a smile on his face and I’ve never seen him be mean or cold to a single soul. I sincerely hope MJ throws the biggest concert for him up in Heaven. He loved him in such a pure and honest way. Although David is gone physically his bright spirit lives on in many ways. Rest in Power...I sincerely hope you are reunited with your mother in Peace and surrounded by Unconditional Love ❤️

David,

You will be deeply missed by many including me. It was truly a pleasure knowing you and being friends with you over the past 8 years ago. You always managed to liven up a room with such confidence and energy; I admired that. We shared a love for MJ but we were also friends and I can honestly say it was truly a pleasure getting to know you over the past 8 years ago. Thank you for being a genuine friend.

I will cherish our memories together whether it be me pieing you in Las Vegas during the 5th year MJ Anniversary Week or you messaging me on Facebook just to check-in. It is evident that you touched those who knew you and I can only hope you felt the love while here on earth and beyond. Your legacy lives on, my friend. Rest in eternal peace. Love you more.

I am deeply sadden by your untimely death ☹️
Thank you for your friendship David. I'll miss our late night chats. You were such a sweet nice person. You always cheered me up. I admired the love you had for Michael. Such a big fan!
Heaven received an Angel! I know you are riding on the wings of Heaven.
RIP my friend ❤️

Dear David, I am devastated that you are gone. I rarely had the opportunity to spend more time with you, though I am honored to work with you at Scared By the Sound. You are one of the most purest person I ever met.

David,
Two Davids in the same office is always better than one. From the moment I met you you were always there to help and show me the ropes. We had many great laughs and conversations all while doing our work. There were times we would push each others buttons and we would both laugh when we would say " Alright, David, enough". Gone to soon but now you can hang with MJ, and all the amazing people who acted in the Star Wars series. The records room will never be the same with your presence and cheesy smile. May the force always be with you.

In love and light always David! I remember seeing your smiling face at many MJ events and how much you loved dancing to his music! You sent me two contributions for each of the Hope Chests, and your devotion to Michael was always very evident! Gone too soon!

To my fellow Leo, it's hard to accept that we wouldn't have our birthday discussion this year. Equally harder to accept that we're the same age, definitely gone too soon! I respected you for the passion you had for the things you held dear to your heart, a fan of Michael Jackson being one of those passions. The courthouse family will not be the same without you.
Thank you for the good memories of a life lived with passion and without fear.

Dear David, my heart is a little broken tonight. Another earth angel has departed and left us in the dark. Your beautiful, unfiltered kindness and grace will forever stay in the memory of my heart. May Almighty God, Jesus Christ, welcome you with so much love. And may you be met by the warm embrace of all those you love, who passed on before. Never, ever forgotten. Big hug. Thank you for being my brother, and my friend.

David,
We weren’t that close but it still doesn’t seem real that you’re gone. The only thing that makes this easier to process is knowing that you’re with Michael and that you are no longer suffering. I’ll always remember you for being the one who always had the most fun at all the MJ events we attended and how you were always there for our group ❤️ I’ll miss you David ❤️ Sleep in peace ❤️

Dave, you were the coolest most interesting person I've ever met at a workplace. Working with you on numerous endeavors was challenging (because you were set in your ways) yet rewarding (because you made sure to follow through). I learned so much from you, especially when we did that weight loss challenge together back in 2017-18. I'll forever be inspired by your generosity (when you would let your hair grow out every year to donate to cancer patients) and your fearlessness. You will be sorely missed Dave, thank you for the awesome memories. <3

David, I will miss you. Every time I would go down to records, you would always pop up and say can I help you. You were such a bright light to a dull day. I will always remember the adventurer I met 20 years ago. RIP

David,

I didn't know you for long, but I will forever cherish the times and laughter we both shared. I didn't know much about you, but I do know how much you loved spending time with your family and how big of a MJ and Star Wars fan you were. I knew what it took to put a smile on your face and what triggered some of your not so good days. It was truly an honor meeting such a sweet soul like yours. You will be truly missed Dave and my deepest condolences go out to your family and loved ones. Rest in Paradise!

David, we haven't known each other for very long, but you were always an interesting person to engage with during the work day. You were unique, courageous and had nothing but pure love and passion for Michael Jackson and Star Wars. Rest in Peace. I hope that you are finally reunited with your beloved mother and have peace, love and many opportunities to dance to all your favorite MJ tunes. Our days from here on out will be duller without your presence. Judy S.

Dave, I’ve known you for 19 years, and I have to say, you are the most interesting person I have the pleasure of meeting. My heart broke again when I heard of your passing. This may sound cliche, but Dave, you are as brave as a lion and march to the beat of your own drum. You brought joy and happiness to those you care about. Watching you embrace life was something I admire about you. Your smile, kindness, generosity, and bubbly personality will be missed. My hope for you Dave is that you reunite with your mom and finally get to meet your idol, MJ. I believe you are just heading on your next journey to the second act of your life. It’s just on a higher plain of existence my friend. Definitely, “Gone Too Soon.” I will miss you Dave, God Bless and R.I.P.

David I hope you knew how much I valued our friendship. We have known each other 20+ years and have had many ups and downs, tears, laughter and arguments but somehow it was always ok. I was there for you and you were always there for me. I will miss you coming to visit me at work and SDNY will never be the same without you. Heaven definitely gained an angel. Now go watch the Yankees with my dad and I hope you check in on me every once in a while. Until we meet again my sweet friend. Love you xoxo

I met David in 2014, in Los Angeles, on a trip I took to attend a Michael Jackson seminar and mark the 5th anniversary of Michael Jackson's passing. We first met in the hotel where many other fans were staying, and ended up sitting together at Brad Sundberg's In the Studio with MJ seminar. I never saw David again after that trip, but we became FB friends and had many conversations, about politics (David was a devoted Bernie supporter), about the state of the world, and about the MJ fan community.

David was a gentle, kind, and thoughtful soul, devoted to his faith, his family, his friends, and the various fandoms that he enjoyed. He always wanted the best for everyone. He was passionate about social justice and making the world a better place, and he did make it better, through his engagement with his many friends, through his clown performances, and through the energy and joy with which he lived his life. May he rest in peace.

I am truly saddened by the loss of my friend, David. He was one of first ones who I met in the fan base back in September 2011. I will treasure all of the great times we had at MJ events and non MJ events. Going over to your house watching The WIZ and other Michael Jackson short films, going to Coney Island (Luna Park), going to haunted houses in Manhattan (his favorite, lol), going to your clown shows and graduation from clown school in The Bronx (another favorite of his), ALL OF THE MICHAEL JACKSON CELEBRATION PARTIES, I can go on forever... Thanks for being a good friend and always checking up on me especially while in the military. My condolences to his family. Peace!!!

Dave, you were quite a character, and you brought a smile to everyone's face around the office. I know we didn't talk that much, but I did enjoy our conversations about the Yankees from the very beginning, when I was introduced to you a few days before I started working at the SDNY. You were always able to answer any Star Wars related questions I had. It was nice to have you stop by and visit throughout the days at work, and I will definitely miss seeing you. You will be sorely missed. May you rest in peace and may God be with you always.

Shalom, buddy!

I've known David for 11 years. I first met him in 2009 at a Thrill the World NYC rehearsal in Central Park. David was a mainstay in the Michael Jackson fan community. When I look at pictures of all the different MJ events I've attended in the last 11 years, David was usually there (even sometimes in LA). David not only loved Michael, but he loved life. I don't say this because he told me those words, but because of how he lived his life. He documented every experience with his camera. Whether he was taking a selfie or photos with friends, David always had a huge smile on his face (unless he was dressed as a zombie). Whenever he would greet you, it was with a hug and a smile. Everything David did, he gave it his all-- whether it was singing, dancing, laughing... even being a clown. He didn't hold back and never made himself small. I think it's a lesson many of us can learn. I aspire to live that way. His joy and exuberance was pure. I will truly miss him. Rest well my friend.

I first met David in 2014 in LA. Though we were only casual, nods, etc. He was always friendly, and always had a kind word. His energy and Love for Michaeling, as we call it, were unmatched. He enjoyed every event, and that made him a joy for all of us around him. May you rest in peace, our brother, whom we all Love!
God bless your family and comfort them, be with them for now they need You most Lord.

It was ALWAYS good to see you at MJ events David. I can't believe I won't see you anymore at future events. Ugh. But what is making me feel relieved is that not only am I imagining the joyous reunion with your mother right now, but I am also imagining both of you sitting front-row-center and watching MJ perform. Rest In Peace David. Can't wait for us to attend MJ events with the REAL guest of honor himself in the Spirit World. With all my heart❤️

My dear friend David,

I am at a loss of words... you were absolutely one of a kind. Such a good caring person! Spiritual, loving, happy go lucky, sweet, sensitive and stubborn at times - yet you were such a amazing soul! I am so fortunate to have had met you in this lifetime! You will forever be missed! I hope you are with your mom and MJ, flying free as a bird above the clouds! No one can or ever will replace you! I hope your family that’s left knows how amazing you were and how fortunate they were to have you in their lives ❤️ All you ever did was talk about your family and how much they meant as well! Many blessings to you - Nam Myoho Renge Kyo my beloved friend! Me and my family are sending you prayers for your eternal repose ❤️

Although David and I were not close, our faces would brighten when we saw one another. We only shared quick hugs and hellos. There was never an event in NYC or Cali that you didn't expect him to show up and show out in his MJ gear, ready to do his moves. His broad smile always invited us in, reminding us that we were all part of Michael's extended family. He will always be remembered as a loyal and dedicated MJ fan.  The last time I saw him was in LA at the Walk of Fame, and we were waiting for more fans to show up and he was getting the music and speakers ready. His passing saddens us because he was genuinely one of a kind.  We will all miss him very much.

Kristen and I are going to miss David so much. Seeing him each year for all the TTWNYC practices and events was like a family reunion, and it won't ever be the same without him. He was one of the gentlest souls ever and we always appreciated how much he loved the group and the people in it. Thank you for gracing us with your presence, your kindness, and the great memories together that we'll always cherish. We're going to miss you much. Rest in peace and love David.

IN memory of David Liebowitz from Brooklyn, New York. As an avid Michael Jackson fan, David was known to participate in various flash mobs and enjoy Michael Jackson events, hosted by other fans from around the world. Every year, David would visit Los Angeles to pay his respects to the late King of Pop and every year we'd try to catch up with him.

In late June of 2019, David attended the "MJ Fan, global welcoming party" hosted by Rachel Raven. This was the ten year memorial for Michael Jackson & David Liebowitz showed up dressed up as "Dally" the clown and danced to "Billie Jean" with an extra Chicken Dance surprise.

He was loved by many within the Michael Jackson fan community but David "Loved you more"
