David M. Waggoner, Sr., was an amazing and great person with a wonderful personality. In 1966,he volunteered for the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18. In 1969 he was honorably discharged due to injuries on the battlefield during the 1968 Tet Offensive War. In 1973,David met my wonderful mom at the Thurman Cafe in Columbus,Ohio which they married on January 21,1974 when he was 25 and she was 19. They had four amazing children: The first Donna Marie Waggoner-Hodges (October 2,1978), their second Denise Kay Waggoner (January 20,1981), their third Derek Alan Waggoner (November 19,1982) and their fourth David Martin Waggoner, Jr. (July 21,1984--February 26,1986). My father was a bright intelligent man who loved his family and everybody else. He was also a caring and giving person who would go out of his way to help homeless families even when he had limited resources. My father is and always will be a true patriot and american hero who fought through with his blood, sweat and tears to fight for our country.
On September 9,2007, i tragically lost my father of 59 years due to heart problems and diabetes. I miss and love my father dearly, there isn't a day that goes by that i am not thinking of my dad. I think about him everyday and even though he is no longer with us, i know he is always in my heart and soul and he loves me as i love him.
