His Life

Your first grandson!

February 9, 2022
Honey,

it’s been two years since you are in heaven. I am sorry that I have not written to you all these times… it’s just so hard to put my grief and emotions in writing.  But I found courage from looking at our first grandson, Preston David (named after you) Li, who was born on January 27th, the same birthday as our first child Stephanie 29th years ago. I vividly remember how excited and happy you were. I saw Preston as a blessing from you in heaven and knowing how happy you would be. And how great you would be as a grandfather who wants to teach everything you know and more…

Everyone in the family is doing pretty good despite the horrible COVID pandemic has turned the world upside down with millions of people died. We all manage to stay healthy while mostly work from home. I was in Taiwan for almost eight months to retreat and away from high infection in US. I was very blessed to do a 14 days hike of Tour of Mont Blanc with Richard’s parents and 3 of their friends in late July in 2021. I think of you so much in this trip knowing how much you would have loved this hike going through many valleys, streams and towns - the scenic is so Incredible! I miss traveling with you!

I miss you so much! My grief is the reminder of the depth of our love that now lost…I need to live forward and fully even with the grief of losing you, I know that is what you want me to…I will tell Preston all about you - smart, confident, courageous, hardworking, self starter - a great man we all missed!
