Dave and his friend became my hero in 1986 or 1987.  I was traveling home from college and it had been raining.  My car spun around on I75 and I ran off the road.  My car was stuck in the mud.  Dave flagged down a truck and he and his friend pulled my car out of the mud.  Dave offered to drive my car to Florida.  He lost his friend on the way and caught up with him later.  Dave gave me his calling card number in case I ever needed it.  April 12, 1987 I was hit by a drink driver and used his card to call home.  He was a wonderful guy.  A bit older than myself but I wish I had got to know him better.
