His Life
February 3, 2016

I met David through work, he was a truck driver we all knew as "Roadrunner", and he loved to embarrass you or make some kind of cute remark to make you laugh...if he thought you were having a bad day, he'd make it a point to do or say something to make it better.  The ladies at work loved him, he was a charmer, and the guys always wondered how such a "big man" could attract so many women, but that he did...

And if you were ever fortunate to become one of his true friends, that friendship would be for life, he was a good soul with a big heart, he didn't take anything from any one, and always spoke his mind.  Family was very important to him, and they came first, and same for his friends...he'd help you in anyway he could, all you had to do was ask.  His daughters were his world, although he might not have agreed with some of the choices they made in life, he loved them dearly, and was always there when they needed him...then he discovered how wonderful it was to have grandchildren...he kept a watchful eye over his parents who lived next door, and vowed to never move so that he would always be there when they needed him.

He loved to ride the blue ridge parkway, either by truck or on his goldwing, anytime of the year, and was planning on riding it to the end and back, one of many things he had on his "bucket list".  As the years went by his deer hunting days got replaced by camping, and he discovered a place up around where I live, which he called "never never land".  One of his favorite places to camp and get away from everything, he was surrounded by mountains, was next to the lake, plenty of wildlife everywhere, and he didn't get phone service until he left the campground...it was peaceful, relaxing, and quiet.
