Information on the Montana State Scholarship Setup in David's Memory:

David worked for IM Flash Technologies and was a Montana State University Industrial Engineering graduate. As a way to remember and honor him IMFT has set up a memorial scholarship fund in his name.

IMFT has made an initial donation, and will also match alumni donations from this point forward. If you would like to donate to MSU, you can do so in David’s name and get a 1:1 match from IMFT. These funds will be used for engineering scholarships.

Dave with Halloween just around the corner I can only imagine what tricks you would have had up your sleeve. I have a few of your costumes here at home. I was thinking I should wear one to hand out the candy at Kristin's house. I will carve a pumpkin in your memory and I will remember all the times we did that together and especially the trip I made to VT just to buy you a pumpkin.!

I miss and love you Dave....Paul asked me to marry him on July 12th and I was so saddened that you were not here to celebrate with me. I know you were there in spirit because you blew out the candles and knocked over the flowers to let me know you were there....I think of you every single minute of every day and I kiss your picture every morning. Thank you for your love and support ~ Mom

Hi Dave,
Its been 3 months and we think of you often. After your Mom's eulogy at the service I was inspired and am pleased to say that I've started an excel spreadsheet! Missing you!

Goofy Sweet Ridiculous Dave,
I miss you daily, I think of you daily. Almost everything reminds me of you. I'll never forget your uniqueness or the crazy awesome moments we've shared. I remember sitting on a bridge with you in northern utah when you told me I needed to follow my dream... and everyday now, I'm living my dream. Thanks for opening my eyes. Love you.

David, I hope you are up there reading this and joyfully smiling as you look down upon us all. I finally dropped a knee and asked Anelise to be my wife. I know you would be so proud, even though saving up for the ring meant I couldn't join you for a beach vacation. Pretty sure you'd respect it. Miss ya man. We'll keep a seat open at the wedding for you. Please feel free to join us.

Dave,

There isn't a day that I don't think about you. Daily, I think what would Dave have done here? What adventures would he be taking this weekend? What joke or story of his would I be laughing at now? I'll always miss you, but in a sense you are still with me everyday.

Dave -
The last time I saw you you were conducting impromptu yoga classes every morning and making fun of me for not joining in. Later, you pulled me aside and said, "but seriously, just try it. You'll feel so good". I've been pretty much every day since I got back to Oregon. You were right. Love ya and miss you buddy. Stephan

28th Birthday

November 4, 2014

Hi Dave....Today is your birthday and I went to Henry Park, I know it is not the mountains of Utah but it had to do....I sat there for a long time enjoying the view and thinking about when you were little and going there and watching you climb the trees, jumping over the stone walls, enjoying a good Easter Egg hunt but also the times when we went sledding down the "big" hill....I hope you enjoyed the balloon that I sent to heaven for you.....Love and miss you so much.....Mom

Its ski season again

November 3, 2013

Dave,

Its snowing in Utah today, so naturally I think of riding with you. I remember right around this time last year we had our first big snow storms and we went out to do some backcountry laps up Grizzly Gulch.

The first trip out, I had my skis (I think Dan and Tony with with us too) but you hadn't been able to find your snow shoes. You went for it anyways.  It wasn't long before the snow was so deep you were sinking up to your thighs on every step. The beverages from the night before and the extreme effort on your part to walk up the hill were catching up to you. It was kind of a funny scene (although I'm sure very frustrating for you). Eventually you had to call it quits but not for lack of effort! However, we returned within the next few weeks better equiped with your set of snowshoes and ended up having an amazing day! (Tony pictured above on our way up).  That was the deepest snow I've skiied in the backcountry (44 inches storm total) and I'll always remember that day.

We'll all miss you up there in the mountains but I know you'll be with us. Won't be the same but I'll make sure to keep the enthusiasm going like you! Love you buddy.

Dave,

I was really looking forward to sharing some canyoneering experiences with you this summer. I wish you were able to be there with me on this trip to Southern Utah. I couldn't help but feel that you were there with me as I admired the two hundred foot tall cliffs around me on our hike out.
