David C. Sitek, 26, of Sandy, UT passed away unexpectedly in a snowboarding accident on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Brighton Ski Resort in Utah. Born November 4, 1986 in Rockville, CT, son of Daniel Sitek and Kathleen Sitek, both of Ellington, David grew up in Ellington and graduated from Ellington High School. His first two years of college were spent at the University of Vermont before transferring to Montana State University where he graduated first in his class and lead the prestigious Alpha Pi Mu Honor's Society as President. He was currently employed by IM Flash Technologies as a Supply Chain Manager. David embraced life with everything he did, from snowboarding to rock climbing, traveling, and being a loving friend, brother and son. Always seeking new challenges and adventures, David taught himself to play the guitar, fix cars, was an avid reader and consistently strived to be the best person he could be. His contagious smile accompanied his great sense of humor, while surrounding himself with his many close friends. David's true passion was enjoying the breath taking views of the mountain ranges out west. Besides his parents he is survived by a brother, Kenneth Sitek, and sister, KristinSitek, both of Ellington; his aunts and uncles, Nancy and Gary, Jill and Ken, Patty and Bill, Sophie, Nancy, Mary and George; and a very close family friend, Paul. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:www.flyinryanhawks.org to benefit the Ryan Hawks Foundation, founded in memory of one of David's best friends who passed away in a skiing accident in 2011.
