Homegoing Celebration will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Tabernacle Baptist Church (380 South Broadway Street/Dayton OH, 45402). Visitation will begin at 11:00am and service to follow at 12:00pm. Social Distancing and Masks will be required. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
Deacon Yakub Oladele went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 17, 2021 surrounded by his family. Originally from the city of Owo in Ondo State, Nigeria, he came to the United States to pursue higher education but stayed when he met the love of his life, the late Deaconess Geneva Oladele. Their union blessed them with two wonderful children, Benita and Dominic.
Yakub taught his children the importance of taking pride in their work and instilled in them a strong work ethic. He was a business owner and passed the entrepreneurial spirit onto his children as well. He was a loving Granddad to four beautiful grandchildren Braxton, Kazeem, Avery and Grace whom he cherished. They are the next generation to build upon his legacy.
He was a dedicated member of The Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, and was a member of Brotherhood Ministry, the Usher Board and co-led the weekly Evening/Noon Prayer Meetings.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ibrahim and Fadeke Oladele, two brothers Ibrahim Mamidu Oladele and Ibrahim Saliu Oladele, and wife Deaconess Geneva Oladele.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Benita (Ray) Penkalski; his son Dominic (Miracle) Oladele; Four grandchildren Braxton, Kazeem, Avery, and Grace; Sisters, OLALERE FOLAWE FLORENCE, ONI EUNNISE, MOBOLAJI OLAYEMI, MOSURO AMUDAT and TITILAYO RASIDAT; Brother IBRAHIM SODIQ.Oladele. Yakub also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
