THE FALCON HAS GONE TO ITS ROOST!
What a sad news, it's highly devastating! I was deflated and depressed when I got the news that my senior prefect in 1970 has gone home. The word that came out of me is that: "Death is a bad reaper, who is always after the unripe fruit". Death, that uninvited arbiter in the affairs of men, has struck again. He has subjected us to the tears flowing down our cheeks like water will gush out from a burst pipe.
What flashed through my mind was his picture standing before us in our small dinning hall then in 1970. I can still view him holding the school bell, jingling it and dishing out his instructions from the high table, sandwiched among his co-prefects. He was a gentleman with authority. He was easy going and soft-spoken, but highly intelligent. In the comity of sitting intelligentsias, he was standing up, while they were standing up, he was outstanding and while they were outstanding, he was standing out. His academic prowess was unparalleled. It simply reminds of the fact that in the gathering of reptiles, the lizard is a Lance corporal while the crocodile is a field Marsha. He was field Marsha in field of academics.
His influence in my life right from 1970 when our set came in as freshers to the school was very significant. He impacted his generation. He was tall, robust with attractive black complexion.
Well, what else can we say than that, death is a necessary end that will come when it will come. Senior Yaqub Oladele got to his bus stop and so has disembarked from his vehicle of destiny. God will grant his family and the entire MHSO family the fortitude to bear the irreparable and irreplaceable loss. God will fill the vacuum that his demise has created in the family. ADIEU SENIOR YAQUB OLADELE, popularly called BA OF LONDON.

Mr Yakubu Oladele was the Senior Prefect in 1970. He was a gentle soul. His nickname was BA London. To me he was kind, willing to share, brilliant, hard working, love his immediate family. True to her wife till death did part them. He lost his wife over 4 years ago but never remarried. Myself and my wife will miss him immensely. BA May your Soul Rest In Peace. My deepest condolences to Oladele family and church members. Mr. Yakub was good to me we worked together years ago and I learned a lot from him. He was very dedicated and always willing to help with no complaint. I sent people to him for help and advice and he accepted and guided them on whatever they need. The people I sent to him come back to me praising him. Mr. Yakub will be greatly missed, May his gentle soul Rest In Peace

Brother Yakub, that's how I've always referred to you, a true brother, you were. When I spoke to you early June, I never knew that would be the last time I would ever speak to you on Earth. How we take many things for granted. You were very close to my family and mine to yours. Thank God for the wonderful wife (Geneva), children (Dominic and Kemi), grandchildren, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law that God blessed you with. You were devoted to Geneva and your family. Thank God for that true love.

Also, thank God for the church family. You were originally raised in a Muslim family, but you found Christ, or rather, He found you. Glory be unto God! Christ found you and called you by His Name, and when the time came, God recalled you. Brother Yakub, you have now fulfilled the mission of all flesh. Oh God, who hears prayers, unto you all flesh come. Brother Yakub, we thank God for your life of humility, love, service, and devotion. Continue in your walk with God. We love you, but He loves you best!

My heart is in shock, broken and weeps with Yakub's family, church family and friends. He was my business mentor, recently helping me startup my business, dear friend and colleague through many years. He loved God, his family and church. Although I was not witness at his church of his deaconship, I was a witness of it outside of his church. He was a giving, servant of Christ that put his commitment to the cause of Christ first even in his professional life. He supplied me a much needed wheelchair for me to transport my mom until her passing last June, when I couldn't get help from other sources. He was a guardian angel here on earth that God saw fit to promote to His heavenly kingdom. He is truly missed.

I am saddened by the sudden death of a dear friend. Difficult and painful for me to accept you have gone to be with the Lord. The world has just lost an incredible life.
Though we have not seen physically in the past 47 years, we discussed issues of concern in the past 2years that fate brought us together as if we were under the same roof. A man that fears God, an analyst and a man full of wisdom. You may be gone from sight but you are never gone from my heart. Rest on Lekan. You always keep me abreast of happenings in Owo despite ,that am closer to the town .Have peace with your maker

My friend, my brother, my homeboy Deacon Yakub Oladele had three passions: He was loyal to and passionately in love with his wife, Geneva. His devotion and unrelenting passion for his children and grandchildren could not be matched. His diligently demonstrated passion for Christ in his servanthood as a Deacon at Tabernacle Baptist Church was unquestionable, perhaps irreplaceable. May his soul rest in eternal peace!
