ForeverMissed

Debbie was a kind-hearted woman that touched the lives of everyone she had contact with. Though she didn’t have much, she would give the shirt off her back for the people she cared for. Debbie spent a lot of her work career as an administrative assistant and went back to school to get her nursing degree. Though she never achieved her goal of being a nurse, she cared deeply for her friends and family. Debbie did everything she could to make the people in her life happy no matter how small of a gesture.

Debbie lost her battle to lymphoma peacefully at her apartment on July 28th. She was full of life and had such high spirits despite her physical condition. No one and nothing was going to stop her from doing what she needed to do in her life. Her willpower is what gave her strength to battle for as long as she did. Debbie was the type to care for others before herself, and didn’t want others to worry about her.

She is survived by her son, Anthony Amorin, her aunt, Nancy D’Elia, and her uncle, Frank Costabile.

Debbie will be deeply missed by all that knew her, and though she has passed, she still lives within the hearts of everyone that was part of her life.

Family and friends are invited to Fertig Funeral Home, 63 N. Main St., Mullica Hill, NJ 08062 on Sunday, August 1, from 6-7pm for Debbie's viewing and time of remembrance.

Anthony, I am so very sorry about your mom’s passing. ( my cousin).  What you wrote about your mom was so powerful and was with much love.

52 years ago, I went to go live with your grandma and grandpa, Debbie ( your mom), and Kathy for about a month while my mom was in the hospital. I was about 4 years old. We all had to be like sisters and I had so much fun because they all made me feel at home. I only remember her with a smile.

The bond between a mother and son is special. She will always have a special place in your heart. Again, I am so very sorry, Love, cousin Lisa ( Uncle Frankie’s daughter).

Dear Cousin Debbie I hope you find peace and comfort in the hands of God. So sorry this happened before we got the chance to fully reconnect. I remember our family gatherings when we were younger. We had that unique connection of being the only female cousins that rocked our red hair! I remember you at my 10 year birthday party and we were the only 2 with that special bond. Similar in other aspects that we both became single moms who raised our sons to be fine young men. Gotta be real proud of that Deb. Looking down from Heaven I’m sure that you will continue to guide Anthony.
I wish I lived closer and could come to say a final goodbye. Writing this is difficult through my tears…. Till we meet again. Fly high with the angels!!

Dear Anthony. I am so very sorry to hear of your Mom, my cousin's passing. I am her Aunt Millie's daughter Michelle. Everything you wrote in your tribute is so true. Debbie and I were emailing each other the last few months and she always sounded so positive and never wanted me to worry about how sick was. She hid that well. She was a fun loving cousin and I am so very sorry for your loss. PRAYERS. Love cousin Michelle

My Darling Debbie,

What can I say? You are such a wonderful friend, you are and will always be my sound board, my text buddy at any time of the day. I know you will be always there for me.  You helped me with all the paperwork with Gigi and you were the first person who gave her, her first stuffed animal.  You were my soundboard with all the craziness with Ezequiel and you always told me to calm down and that things were always going to work out and to be patient.  Thank you so much for making the effort to attend his adoption.

We met many years ago at Novartis and after I left the division we still kept our friendship after so many years. We moved to Florida and came back and you were always there with open arms.  You gave me your recipes for potatoes and sausage. Omg. Delish. You are an amazing women.  Yes you had your obstacles in life like all of us but you never let anyone know how bad they were.  Especially when the big C came to visit.  It was lymphoma but it was the dormant one and it was never going to interfere with your life and I believed it....My friend I will miss you, your voice, your laughter.

I WILL MISS YOU. YOU AND ANTHONY ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE FAMILY. WE WILL MISS YOU AS A FAMILY!!!

You came to our wedding and I still have the note you sent us for our shower.  You were/are an awesome women/mother/friend/sister. Your precious thing in life was that beautiful/handsome son ANTHONY.

I saw him from when he was about 10 or so and now he is 30 something. What an awesome human being. Thanks to you Debbie.  Girlfriend, I will miss you but I know you are in my heart and when I ask for help you will be there along with my parents and all those that have been dear to me.

I promise I will keep in touch with Anthony.   I saw him grow into a handsome and intelligent young man.

You definitely earned your place in heaven! May you be free of all the pain and free from suffering. God Bless you my friend.  I will miss our texts/talks.  But I will remember our conversation and I will smile and laugh.

Our see ya's were always bye deb, bye Susana, love you Deb, Love you Susana...

So love you Deb see you on the other side. Watch over your Son Anthony and watch over the Arenas.  We love you dearly now, times infinity, which it is forever.

God Bless you Lady.

Mommy, you always did everything and anything you could for me. You sacrificed so much for my happiness growing up until the day you passed.

Though not many people knew you, the ones that did, you touched their hearts. You had an attitude for those that got on your nerves (I was one of them sometimes) but you still wished the best for everyone. You remembered so much about the people you met, even those who you only met once. You always asked how they were doing and wished them well.

You kept to yourself and never wanted to get me upset with things that were bothering you or causing you pain because you didn’t want me to worry. It hurts so much that you didn’t tell me earlier about your condition. I know we talked about this, and you didn’t want to hurt my feelings but it hurts that I didn’t know for so long.

Though you had a rough life, you were happy every single time you saw and talked to me, and said so many nice things about me to people. Everyone that I told about you said you did such an amazing job raising me. You taught me to treat others how I would want to be treated, the value of a dollar, and to take it one day at a time.

You always said, “Everything happens for a reason,” and you’re absolutely right, but sometimes I don’t like the result. You’re no longer in pain. I hope you’re happy, and looking down on me and everyone you knew.

I now don’t have you here to tell about my concert stories, to tell me you’re proud of me, or to see you at the kitchen table when I came to see you smiling from ear to ear. I know for a fact you’re with me in spirit, and I’m so glad we made the video of you telling me everything I won’t hear again. It’s going to be tough going forward, but as blink-182 said, “be strong when things fall apart.”
