Each Life Touches Lives

Each person who has walked among us remains a part of us in our minds, with the memories of them in our hearts, with the thoughts of the emotions and experiences we have shared.  So long as we remember how close we were to them we will always remember how close we will ever be.

Debora will be cremated.  There will be no formal service.  The immediate family will gather in her honor at a later date.

On behalf of the entire Stewart-Collier family, we would like to thank everyone for their condolences and contributions during this time of bereavement.

Worked with her for several years and never saw her mad but one time and when Debra was mad, that meant someone did something very foul being she always had a pleasant smile on her face. Debra was a very BEAUTIFUL person with a gentle spirit and soul. Prayers for family, friends and all who loves her.

They say laughter is a part of the equation for happiness. I firmly believe that. I worked with and around Debora for 6 - 8 years, and the one thing that she was consistent at, was making me laugh or smile, whether on purpose or not.
I recall when I first met her, I had only knew her name through emails, and from a far she is appeared to be a quite, shy, and not too social of a person, but as soon as we met she was the nicest person with a funny personality. Of course in our first meeting she made me laugh. She speaks her mind when needed. Never a dull moment with Debora.
I thank you Debora for the good times. May you rest in peace.

One of my fondest memories of my cousin was her showing off her nails, we never talked but I could feel that her spirit was a joyful one. I can always count on her to answer my mom on the family page. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27

To the Family

I have known Deb for about 15 years now through CDC. Some folks use to call us double trouble because my name is also Deborah. I miss Deb's laughter, smile, wittiness, smarts and especially going out to lunch. Deb loved herself some Chinese chicken with asparagus! She enjoyed talking about her children good or bad; she was so proud of them and loved them unconditionally. When Deb went to the Roybal campus we didn't go to lunch as much but kept in touch via email and telephone calls.

Family, I truly miss Debora who remains in my heart forever missed!

Fond Memories

April 26, 2021
Debora was the youngest of seven (7) children. She was affectionately known as the “oops baby” because after 7 years of no pregnancy “oops”. She was unexpected, but welcomed. She was showered with much love from the very beginning. Whether she knew it or not that love followed her through life.
The two things that impressed me the most about Debora was her intelligence and her piano playing. She was quite gifted on the keyboard. She played the organ on Sundays at church service in D.C. while still in her teens. But before that she was exposed to the world of art in the form of museums, plays, concerts and different exhibits around the city. It is my honest opinion that those experiences molded her intellectually. I always considered her the second smartest among us siblings. I won’t name the smartest, but it’s not me.
My last communication with Debora was on Christmas Day 2020 via text. It simply read “Merry Christmas. Love you all.” I’m thankful I was able to tell her that she was loved.
