Her Life

Debroah Dawn

March 25, 2012

Our Debbie was a very loveable and generous individual throughout her too short life. She was the third child born to us, her  parents Tom & Eva Devine.

As a small child she was always curious about what made things tick, which led to her taking her crib apart at age one, taking an alarm clock apart at age 12. Those are just two incidents that come to mind as I sit and write this.
We never knew what to expect from Debbie. She was one of those children that made every new day an adventure into the future. Predictable she was not.
She dropped out of high school at too early an age, but came to realize later on that that was a big mistake, so at the age of about 25 she went back to school and got her GED. Even though I was visually impaired by the time this happened, and I had a real hard time seeing how  she looked in her cap and gown, I was so proud the day of her graduation that I just sat and cried.

She spent ten years of her life, the last ten years, living with a man who said he wanted to marry her above all else. He said he loved her more then life itself and he could not live without her.

Well, instead of marrying her, he murdered her. They both start with an "M" so that made it OK in his mind.

He was sentenced to ten years in jail  after being charged for "MANSLAUGHTER" for taking a life, according to the jury that heard his case. This after he confessed to  the crime.  This July 2012, he will be released to go on with his life, while our sweet daughter Deborah's ashes rest in a wooden box her father made for her. No one is going to release her from that box, not in July, not ever. She will remain in that box until her father and i join her in heaven and our ashes are mixed in a larger box, also made by her father, and later to be joined by her sister's ashes. But not before her sister Diana passess into the next life.

We will always miss our Debbie, she may be gone to the world, but she still lives on in our hearts, minds and memories. That is one thing her killer cannot take away from us.

We miss you very much Debbie, you may be gone but you are not forgotten.
