Decedric Lawarren Winston was born March 8, 1973 to Betty Jean Winston and the late Thomas Young in Langdale Alabama. He departed life suddenly the morning of February 23, 2015 at his home.

From his birth, to his call to glory, Decedric was a shining star for all of those who knew him. "Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come.” His innocence and ability to make others laugh and smile was his way of showering that light which the Lord bestowed upon him.

Decedric graduated from Lanett High School in 1992 and lived most of his life in Lanett, AL. Decedric loved to dance and sing. He also enjoyed walking visiting his loved ones and playing with his nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all of those who loved him.

He leaves behind a wonderful, devoted mother, Betty Jean Winston, Lanett, AL; three brothers, Lamar Winston, Opelika, AL; Rodney (Vickie) Winston, Opelika AL; Michael (Bridget) Winston , Lanett, AL; four sisters, Donna Floyd, West Point, GA; Natalie (John) Calloway, Lagrange, GA; Kimberly Winston, Lanett, AL; Erica Brandy, West Point, GA; four aunts, Linda Young; Diane McCollough, Barbara Young, Gaynell Boyd; (a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
