Dee Murray was born David Murray Oates In Southgate, Kent England On April, 3, 1946. In 1969, Dee joined the Elton John band. Nigel Olsson, their drummer was his best touring companion and best friend. In 1984, Dee was diognosed with Malignant Melenoma. Dee passed away at Vanderbuilt University Medical Center in Nashville Tennesee on January ,15, 1992 at the age of 45. Dee is survived by Nigel, his son Ashley  David, daughters Didi, and Jenna, and widdow Maria. Also by all the past and present members of The Elton John band.
